Instructor Pilot - United States
About the Role
CAE, a global leader in aviation training, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Instructor Pilot to join our team in the United States. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to impart your knowledge and expertise, while continuing to grow professionally as an aviator.
Responsibilities
- Deliver flight training in a flight simulator and ground school environment, adhering to regulatory agency requirements, CAE approved curriculum, and customer expectations.
- Act as a subject matter expert (SME) providing guidance and instruction to clients throughout their training.
- After 1.5+ years, as per business needs, qualified Instructors are expected to progress to a Training Center Evaluator (TCE) and customer contract check airman role.
- Provide simulator/flight or classroom instruction on one or more aircraft types, as assigned, for the issuance of licenses, type ratings, internal training, certificates, and pilot qualifications.
- Conduct thorough and professional pre and post flight simulator briefings in accordance with CAE standards.
- Perform essential administrative duties, such as completing training records, recommending remedial training when necessary, and tracking personal instructional qualifications and activity.
- Contribute as an SME in the development of curricula and courseware as required.
Qualifications
- Hold or meet the qualifications to receive an unrestricted ATP certificate.
- Possess a minimum of one unrestricted PIC Type Rating.
- Demonstrate a passion for teaching others through strong communication skills.
- Possess basic computer proficiency in Microsoft Office and other internet-based programs.
- Must participate in CAE's DOT Drug & Alcohol testing program.
- Experience flying business aircraft is a plus.
- Must be authorized to live and work in the United States.
Physical Requirements
- The physical dexterity required in performing tasks that require hand/eye coordination and fine motor skills.
- Ability to sit in a confined space for 4-6 hours at a time with limited breaks.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time (as many as 10 hours) with limited breaks.
- Ability to sit, stoop, climb, twist, and turn.
