About the Role

Boeing Global Services (BGS) is seeking experienced Flight Simulator Instructor Pilots to serve as site leaders at the Formal Training Unit (FTU) located at Maxwell AFB, AL. This role involves comprehensive support for MH-139A simulator requirements, testing, courseware development, classroom instruction, and proposal development, in liaison with flight test, sustainment, and production teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical oversight for all training and assessment of Chief Flying Instructor (CFI) activities.
• Lead the design and development of aircrew training material to meet company, customer, and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee latest developments in training and technical ideas relevant to assigned product platforms.
• Collaborate to improve and streamline processes, and harmonize training methods and philosophies.
• Determine requirements for aircrew competence evaluation criteria.
• Oversee training plans to ensure company, customer, and regulatory requirements for skill, knowledge, training, and authorizations are maintained.
• Conduct training for customer pilots and ground-based simulator flight instructors.
• Mentor trainees as necessary.
• Review all technical training matters relevant to assigned product platforms.
• Develop strategies and approaches to deliver trainee performance assessment.
• Lead and instruct complex training courses using a variety of modalities, media, and training devices.
• Plan, develop, and complete complex testing of training devices to validate functionality against expected operational and training outcomes.
• Evaluate aircrew training effectiveness and customer feedback.
• This position is for shifts as assigned and requires on-site work 5 days per week.
• May be asked to support other programs or perform other duties as needed.

Requirements

• 800+ hours as a USAF Helicopter Pilot, other US military equivalent, or AW139 Pilot.
• 100+ hours experience with training systems as an aircrew instructor.
• Must be able to attain Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) certification within 1 year of hire date.
• Experience and ability to operate independently with senior levels of customer.
• Ability to travel internationally 10% of the time.
• The role requires appropriate regulatory and/or customer certification and/or licensing with appropriate endorsements, compliant with aviation regulatory requirements.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
• Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, requiring a "U.S. Person."

Preferred Qualifications

• 10+ years of higher education and/or related work experience.
• Experience instructing with military training systems, simulators, and in-depth military aviation ethos.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher OR equivalent work experience.
• 2000+ hours as a USAF helicopter pilot or other US military equivalent.
• 400+ hours experience with Department of Defense training systems as helicopter aircrew instructor.
• Experience as an instructor pilot supporting the AFGSC mission.
• Previous T-Coded Instructor experience.
• Experience as a flight instructor, academic instructor, and courseware development and maintenance.
