Pilot - Police Scotland Air Support Unit

Babcock is seeking a qualified and experienced Pilot to join its Police Scotland Air Support Unit, based at the state-of-the-art Govan base in Glasgow, UK. The Pilot will play a crucial role in supporting mission-critical operations across Scotland. Babcock provides essential aviation services in multiple countries and is a global provider of critical asset, infrastructure, and training support to sectors including emergency services, energy, and defense.

Responsibilities:

The Pilot will participate in 24-hour operations utilizing the EC 135 helicopter, providing varied, challenging, and interesting flying throughout Scotland in support of Police Scotland Air Support Unit.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum of 1500 hours total flight time, with 500 hours as Pilot in Command on twin-turbine helicopters.
  • 500 hours of operational experience in twin-turbine helicopters overland, with significant experience operating in a low-level environment.
  • 50 hours VFR at night, with 20 hours as Pilot in Command.
  • Hold a UK ATPL(H) or CPL(H) + IR.
  • Valid Class 1 Medical Certificate.
  • Type Rating on either an EC135 or H145 (preferred).
  • Fluent English language proficiency.
  • Valid Driving License.
  • Valid Passport.
  • Unrestricted Right to Work in the UK.

Additional Requirements:

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Police Scotland Vetting security clearance. Eligibility for certain roles may be affected by place of birth, nationality, current or former citizenship, and any residency held.
