First Officer – London Gatwick (BA Euroflyer)

Position Overview
Based in Sussex, our flying programme ensures that crews return to their home base at London Gatwick every evening. Our pilots benefit from a fixed pattern roster, providing flexibility and the opportunity to express preferences for flight assignments. Additionally, a peer-to-peer swap function is available to support personal scheduling needs.
Compensation and Benefits

Starting salary: £65,420 (subject to 2026 pay review), plus allowances of approximately £14,500 (based on 800 flying hours per year) and annual incremental pay uplifts on a 7-point scale.

Candidate Requirements

Possession of a current UK-issued CAA Flight Crew Licence (ATPL(A), fATPL(A), or MPL). EASA licence holders must meet the UK CAA “Third Country CPL and ATPL licence conversion requirements” (routes 3, 4, 5, or 6).

Minimum of 500 hours on a relevant aeroplane type (excluding simulator time), with flight experience on the relevant type within the last 12 months.

Valid right to live and work in the UK.

Height between 1.57m (5’2”) and 1.91m (6’3”). Candidates over 1.91m are subject to a functionality check regarding seating requirements.

High level of physical fitness and a valid Class 1 medical (minimum 6 months validity from contract start).

Spoken and written English proficiency at ICAO Level 6.

Valid passport (minimum 12 months remaining).
Application Notes
Relevant aeroplane type is defined as multi-pilot turbo-jet aircraft (CS-25) or multi-pilot turbo-prop aircraft with a maximum take-off mass of at least 10 tonnes or a seating configuration of more than 19 passengers. Eligibility for Zero Flight Time Training (ZFTT) requires relevant type experience within the 12 months preceding the ZFTT course commencement.
Recruitment Policies:
Candidates may only apply to one airline within the British Airways family (British Airways, Euroflyer, or Cityflyer) at a time. Re-application intervals following an unsuccessful assessment are 6 months for initial screening/interviews/capacity testing and 12 months for the SIM stage. Successful candidates entering the hold pool are eligible for up to two job offers; declining the second offer will result in removal from the pool and a 12-month waiting period for re-application.
