Avenger Pilot - RNAS Culdrose

Ascent Flight Training is recruiting for an Avenger Pilot at RNAS Culdrose. The successful candidate will operate the King Air B350 aircraft in support of airborne rear crew instruction under the UKMFTS programme. This role is integral to delivering high-quality training, ensuring operational readiness, and upholding stringent safety standards.

About the Role

The Avenger Pilot will conduct scheduled and unscheduled airborne sorties to support rear crew instruction as part of the UKMFTS programme. Responsibilities include providing essential pilot support to flying training operations, meticulously adhering to demanding safety and regulatory standards, and fostering close collaboration with instructors and engineers to ensure seamless training delivery. The role also requires acting as a role model for flight safety and professionalism, maintaining readiness for all flight operations, and adapting to evolving training requirements.

Requirements

• Commercial Pilot’s Licence (CPL) with a minimum of 500 hours as first pilot, OR qualification as a military multi-engine pilot.
• Proven medical fitness and commitment to maintaining flying currency.
• Strong safety mindset and integrity in reporting and decision-making.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Confidence using digital tools and systems.
• Ability to obtain Security Check (SC) clearance.

Desirable Qualifications

• Instrument Rating.
• Single-pilot operational fitness.
• Familiarity with the UKMFTS structure and rear crew training syllabi.
• Understanding of military ethos and training standards.
• Experience supporting operational efficiency and continuous improvement.
