Supervisor, Inflight Crew Scheduling

Alaska Airlines is seeking a Supervisor, Inflight Crew Scheduling to oversee the daily operations of Inflight Schedulers for Alaska Airlines (AS) and Hawaiian Airlines (HA). This leadership role involves guiding a team to establish priorities and meet performance objectives related to safety, reliability, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of Inflight Crew Schedulers to achieve performance objectives including on-time performance, reserve utilization, and premium usage by monitoring daily performance, guiding work priorities, and providing real-time direction within established guidelines.
  • Investigate and report on Inflight Crew delays and irregular flight activity, determining solutions to prevent future occurrences and implementing actions within established procedures to mitigate them.
  • Supervise the execution and ongoing adherence to Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR), Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBA), and company policies to ensure Flight Attendants are scheduled legally.
  • Liaise between labor unions, IAM & AFA, to resolve contractual work agreements efficiently and mitigate potential grievances. Support the resolution of contractual issues by following established processes and engaging internal Labor Relations partners, communicating with IAM & AFA as guided.
  • Develop Crew Schedulers through effective performance management, connecting individuals to projects, and delivering ongoing feedback focused on coaching in areas such as attendance, required training, scheduling compliance, delays, and professionalism.
  • Manage department administrative functions, including daily schedule, scheduler sick leave, time off, and supply ordering.
  • Address escalated calls from Flight Attendants pertaining to contractual scheduling needs, handling all inquiries and solving problems.
  • Engage in cross-departmental collaboration to promote a positive work culture and cultivate a deeper understanding of business acumen.
  • Influence team culture through action, presence, and reinforcement of desired behaviors.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • 3 years of experience in airline, crew scheduling, or a related area.
  • Bachelor’s degree, or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, OneNote, Teams, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Ability and willingness to accept shift work, including weekends, holidays, after hours, and on-call duties, and to work a flexible schedule with 8, 10, or 12-hour shifts.
  • Strong interpersonal skills facilitating effective verbal and written communication.
  • Demonstrated strong critical decision-making and situational judgment skills.
  • Ability to interact with business leaders, provide insights and recommendations, and collaborate to solve complex operational challenges.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Minimum age of 18.

Preferred:

  • Leadership abilities demonstrating self-reliance, self-motivation, ability to work well under pressure, and professional assertiveness.
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm, team spirit, and congeniality.
  • Working knowledge of JCTE (Jeppesen Crew Tracking Editor).
  • Experience with scheduling and budget controls.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Compensation:

Salary Range: $90,550 -- $133,200 / year. Pay is determined by factors including location, relevant experience/level, skillset, and internal equity.
