About the Role
The Oklahoma Air National Guard is seeking a highly qualified Airplane Pilot (Title 32) to join the 138th Fighter Wing in Oklahoma. This role involves piloting advanced military aircraft on assigned missions, utilizing precision instrument flight techniques, and performing administrative tasks in support of the Air Operations program. The position is part of the National Guard's Title 32 excepted service and requires compatible military membership.
Responsibilities

Pilot advanced, single or multi-engine military aircraft, including high-performance military fighter aircraft, on tactical and non-tactical missions.

Execute normal flight procedures and standard maneuvers in all weather conditions, adhering to flight parameters and safety protocols.

Maintain comprehensive knowledge of aircraft systems, procedures, and emergency conditions.

Prepare for flights by reviewing weather, planning routes, calculating fuel requirements, and performing preflight checks.

Ensure passengers and crew are briefed on flight purposes and emergency procedures.

Communicate and coordinate with ground units and controlling activities during flight.

Accomplish post-flight activities including maintaining logs, writing reports, and coordinating with maintenance personnel.

Serve as the Air Commander's representative when performing duties as Supervisor of Flying (SOF), responsible for mission accomplishment and directing emergency actions.

Rotate to administrative tasks in support of the Air Operations program, including training and scheduling, planning, safety, and Inspector General functions.
Requirements

Must be a member of the National Guard and maintain compatible military assignment.

Must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the required military grade.

Males born after December 31, 1959, must be registered for Selective Service.

Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance.

Must be able to wear the military uniform.

Must possess a valid state driver’s license.

May be required to successfully complete a trial period and serve up to a two-year probationary period.

May be required to travel by military or commercial air.
-
May be required to work other than normal duty hours.
Qualifications
-
Graduated from USAF or USN Undergraduate Flying Training (UFT).
-
Maintain the same medical standards as USAF military pilots.
-
MILITARY GRADES: O-1 through O-4.

MANDATORY QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENT: 11F AFSC.

General Experience: Minimum of one year of on-the-job experience in the grade or a comparable military rank immediately below the next higher level.

Specialized Experience: At least two years of working experience in military service aviation programs (active duty or reserve components) or Air National Guard Wing/Operations Group.

Experienced in piloting and instructing pilot skills in fixed-wing, rotary, or remotely piloted aircraft (RPA).

Experienced in reading and applying mission tasks, intelligence reports, and weather information.

Experienced in supervising and/or conducting mission planning, mission preparations, filing of flight plans, and conducting crew briefings.

Experienced in aircraft preflight inspections, aircraft loading, equipment assessments, and mission manning.

Experienced in operating aircraft controls and equipment.

Experienced in performing or supervising navigation, in-flight refueling, search and rescue, surveillance, or reconnaissance.

Experienced in conducting or supervising crew member training.

Experienced in developing plans and policies, monitoring operations, and advising commanders.

Experienced in flight theory, air navigation, meteorology, flying directives, aircraft operating procedures, and mission tactics.

Experienced in aviation unit quality control management programs.

Experienced in unit flying, explosive, and ground safety programs.

Experienced in various missions such as air-to-air, air-to-ground, surveillance, reconnaissance, or surface attack.

Experienced in traditional "stick and rudder" controls, aircraft instrumentation, and aircraft mounted video cameras.

Experienced in visual flight rule (VFR) and instrument flying.

Experienced in planning, scheduling, and conducting training flights through Federal Aviation Administration controlled national airspace.

Experienced in working independently to plan and perform work assignments.

Experienced in completing safe and efficient mission accomplishments through Operational Risk Management.

Experienced in performing aviation duties such as cancelling flying activities, diverting aircraft, or directing emergency actions.

Experienced in conducting particular missions and flying specific mainframe aircraft in combat tactics, flying in mountainous terrain, performing tactical remote site evaluations, providing ground and flight training, and conducting night-vision operations.

Experienced in standardization and evaluation programs, written ground examinations, emergency procedures, and aircrew performance standards.

Experienced with wartime and peacetime contingency plans.

An undergraduate degree from an accredited college/university is mandatory.

Must have Federal Aviation Administration certifications awarded from accredited civilian aviation programs OR aviation certifications from accredited military aviation schools.
