The Air Line Pilots Association, International (ALPA), recognized as the world's largest airline pilot union and the foremost non-governmental aviation safety organization globally, representing over 79,000 pilots at 42 U.S. and Canadian airlines, is seeking a qualified Training & Human Performance Coordinator. Based in the Tysons (McLean), Virginia office, this role is an integral part of the Engineering & Air Safety (E&AS) department.
The Training & Human Performance Coordinator serves as the primary staff liaison for Training and Human Performance policy areas. The Coordinator provides essential expertise, support, and coordination for activities related to human performance, training, human factors, and other assigned disciplines. This position involves acting as a key liaison between the Association and various government, industry, trade, and professional organizations within these domains. Responsibilities also include supporting activities associated with the development and harmonization of worldwide regulatory standards. The Coordinator works in close collaboration with the ALPA Air Safety Organization (ASO) and its associated groups, as well as other technical groups and Master Executive Councils (MECs) within the ALPA structure. The Coordinator also participates on a rotational basis in answering calls to the ALPA Worldwide Accident Hotline and the Pilot Peer Support line, which may include hours outside of standard business operations, weekends, and holidays.

It regularly requires maintaining a stationary position, moving about the office and local metropolitan area, interpreting communication, and conversing with others. Regular activities include sitting, standing, bending, reaching, moving about the office, and traveling (locally, nationally, and internationally). Occasional bending, stooping, squatting, pushing, pulling, or moving items (e.g., packing/unpacking cases) may be required. Occasionally, the role requires moving, raising, reaching, and/or retrieving items up to ten (10) pounds. While traveling, the Coordinator may be responsible for moving, raising, reaching, and/or retrieving luggage weighing as much as 50 lbs. (Assistance may not always be available).
Up to 20%; sporadically, travel, local and national, could be as much as 25% of the time.
ALPA offers competitive salaries and comprehensive benefits. The projected annual salary range for this position is $96,027.00 – $137,179.00.
