Essential Functions and Responsibilities
The Pilot Operational Support Specialist is responsible for performing the following core duties (Essential Functions):
Providing timely and technically accurate responses to customer pilots, requiring diligent coordination with Dassault Aviation Direction du Soutien Operationel FALCON (DSOF) and DFJ Customer Service departments.
Conducting periodic instructional sessions and presentations at authorized Pilot training facilities located throughout the United States.
Assisting the DFJ Sales team by addressing complex aviation technical matters pertaining to both flight operations and regulatory compliance issues.
Delivering specialized pilot briefings, customer seminars, and dedicated operational updates to the Falcon pilot community.
Collecting and managing operational regulatory feedback from the field.
Filtering and redirecting field reports or technical questions to the appropriate internal department or personnel for resolution.
Providing thorough, documented feedback to the company concerning significant operational events or crucial technical inquiries.
Non-principal duties may include attending Flight Operations related events (seminars and conferences) to provide operational feedback to the company, and offering technical support to Airworthiness Authorities upon request to assist operator applications for specific operations.
Required Qualifications (Minimum Standards)
Successful candidates must meet or exceed the following mandatory requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree in Aviation, an equivalent Science degree, or possess equivalent experience in aviation/flight operations.
A minimum of five (5) years of professional experience dealing with jet aircraft, preferably within the corporate jet sector and ideally with Falcon aircraft.
Demonstrated extensive knowledge of aircraft systems, operating procedures, and official flight documentation.
Proven knowledge of aircraft flight operations, pilot training standards, and related training providers/centers.
A comprehensive understanding of operational regulations applicable to corporate aircraft operation.
Possession of a current, valid Passport.
Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills are mandatory.
Additional Highly Desired Qualifications
Candidates possessing the following attributes may be given preference:
Current or former FAA-licensed aircraft pilot certification.
Proficiency with Microsoft OneNote and aviation technical communication platforms.
A background spanning two (2) or more years in analyzing data to identify trends for quality management.
Strong presentation, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
Highly organized, self-motivated, and capable of managing multiple projects with minimal supervision.
Project management experience and fluency in reading, writing, and communicating in French are advantageous.
Working Conditions and Environment
This position primarily operates on a day shift schedule (8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday). Some schedule flexibility is required to accommodate coordination with DSOF and the DFJ Flight Department.
Work environments include professional office/desk settings, presentation halls, and aircraft hangar environments.
The role requires use of standard equipment, including telephone systems, personal computers, iPads, and various mobile communication devices.
Domestic and international travel is required, potentially involving occasional extended periods away from the home base. Annual travel to France for DSOF support and interaction is expected.
Compensation and Benefits
Dassault Falcon Jet offers a highly competitive total compensation package for this role. The typical compensation for the Pilot Operational Support Specialist falls between $105,000 and $120,000 per year. This is a non-overtime eligible position, and may qualify for a sign-on bonus, shift differential, or relocation assistance based on specific circumstances.
The final compensation package is determined by various factors, including relevant years and type of experience, specific Falcon-related expertise, pertinent education/certifications, and geographic location.
