Job Title: MQ-9 Launch and Recovery Pilot II

Location: Yuma, AZ

Albers Aerospace is seeking a highly skilled Launch and Recovery MQ-9 Pilot to support critical USMC aviation operations in Yuma, Arizona. Essential Job Functions

  • Serve as Pilot in Command (PIC) for MQ-9 aircraft, focusing on safe launch and recovery operations.
  • Manage all phases of flight, including planning, mission briefing, execution, debriefing, and crew resource management.
  • Ensure strict adherence to military, civilian, ICAO, and FAA flight regulations.
  • Develop specialized briefing and training materials to support ongoing flight operations.
  • Perform technical assessments of analog, digital, microwave, optical, and mechanical systems.
  • Facilitate the safe and efficient integration of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) into the National Airspace System (NAS).
  • Collaborate effectively with US Government organizations and Original Equipment Manufacturers.

Required Qualifications

  • Current or previously qualified C-Band Launch and Recovery MQ-9 Pilot (must have held Form 8 within the last 3 years).
  • Minimum of 200 hours as MQ-9 Pilot-in-Command (PIC).
  • Current FAA Class II Medical Certificate or DoD equivalent.
  • Active DoD Top Secret Security Clearance.
  • Completion of prior DoD pilot training (USAF Undergraduate Pilot Training or US Army, Navy, Marine Corps, or Coast Guard equivalent fixed-wing training).
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent professional experience).
  • Alternative Qualification Path: Initial Formal Training Upgrade (IFTU) via the 18X pipeline OR a Commercial Pilot Certificate with Airplane Category and Instrument-Airplane ratings.
  • Ability to travel within the CONUS.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience as an MQ-9 Launch and Recovery Instructor or Evaluator Pilot.
  • Total of 500 MQ-9 flight hours.
  • Flight currency within the last 180 days.

Compensation and Benefits

Pay Rate: $70.00 USD per hour.
