Requirements

2000 hours of fixed-wing flying time.

Ability to meet Air Canada and Transport Canada medical and visual acuity requirements for a Category 1 medical certificate.

Canadian Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL).

Current Group 1 (Multi-engine) Instrument Rating.

Canadian citizenship.

Eligibility to hold a Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC).

Eligibility to work in Canada and travel without restriction throughout the Air Canada network; candidates are responsible for any required work permits, visas, or other authorizations.
Qualifications
While the above are basic requirements, preference is given to candidates with additional qualifications, which may include:

Graduation from a three or four-year diploma/degree program from a college or university.

Graduation from an aviation college degree or diploma program.

Commercial or military flight experience.

Jet and/or turbo-prop multi-crew experience.

Pilot in Command (PIC) time.

Experience on aircraft with a maximum ramp weight exceeding 15,000 kg.

A minimum of two years of flying experience with the current Express carrier.

Experience as a flight instructor or check pilot in a 705 operation or with the Air Force.

English/French bilingualism.
