The successful candidate will be based in Abbotsford, British Columbia, Canada and will contribute to the critical mission of protecting communities and natural resources from wildfires, both domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities:

The Aerial Firefighting Pilot will operate Conair aircraft in demanding firefighting missions, adhering to the highest standards of safety and operational precision. The role will require the ability to perform safe and efficient flying in challenging environments, including mountainous regions. The pilot will participate in regular training programs and ensure strict adherence to all safety and operational procedures.

Qualifications:

To be considered, candidates must fulfill the following criteria:

  • Must be a Canadian citizen or possess the legal authorization to work in Canada.
  • Must be eligible to obtain necessary work visas for international deployments.
  • Must hold a valid Canadian Driver's License and Passport.
  • Must commit to residing in Canada during the fire season.
  • Must possess a valid Canadian Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL).
  • Must be able to obtain a Canadian Category 1 Medical Certificate.
  • Must have a minimum of 2,000 hours total flight time.
  • Must have a minimum of 1,000 hours of Pilot-in-Command (PIC) experience.
  • Must have at least 250 hours of flying experience in mountainous terrain.
  • Must have recent flying experience within the past 12 months.

Additional Qualifications for Specific Aircraft:

For positions involving seaplane or tailwheel aircraft operation:

  • Must have 500 hours of PIC time on seaplanes in a commercial capacity, or
  • Must have 200 hours on certified tailwheel aircraft.

Please note that a lack of seaplane or tailwheel experience will not necessarily preclude candidates from being considered.
