Chief Pilot - Air Ambulance
Air Gato, headquartered in Clearwater, is seeking a highly qualified and experienced professional to join our team as Chief Pilot. This role is crucial to the safe and efficient operation of our air ambulance service.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Possession of an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate.
- At least three years of supervisory or managerial experience in a position overseeing operations conducted under 14 CFR Parts 121 or 135 (waiver may be considered).
- Comprehensive knowledge of all operational aspects under 14 CFR Part 135.
- Ability to act as Pilot In Command when required.
- Competency to serve as Company Training Captain.
- Capability to act as Company Check Pilot.
Job Responsibilities:
The Chief Pilot will perform duties as directed by the Director of Operations, adhering to established company policies and procedures outlined in the Policy and Procedures Manual. Key responsibilities include:
- Maintaining a professional, responsible, and ethical demeanor while performing duties and representing the company.
- Implementing and enforcing company policies and procedures, ensuring compliance among Flight Crew Personnel.
- Overseeing the implementation of company operational control procedures.
- Developing and revising the company's General and Aircraft Specific Training Manuals.
- Directing and overseeing all flight crew training activities in collaboration with the Flight Operations Trainer.
- Managing flight crew scheduling.
- Sharing responsibility for operational control with the Director of Operations.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date aircraft books for each aircraft.
- Developing and maintaining current aircraft checklists.
- Ensuring all aircraft are equipped with current manuals.
- Assisting the Director of Operations in conducting personnel interviews, hiring, and discharging flight crew personnel.
- Ensuring the currency of Electronic Flight Bags (EFBs) and tracking the dissemination of company publications to flight crews.
- Preparing and maintaining records of pilot flight and duty times.
- Implementing a paperless records system and securing regulatory approval/acceptance.
- Maintaining a full-time pilot schedule while fulfilling Chief Pilot duties on alternate weeks.
- Performing other assigned duties.
Supervision:
- Reports to the Director of Operations.
- Coordinates with the Director of Operations, Director of Maintenance, and Flight Coordinators.
Performance Evaluation:
The Chief Pilot's performance will be evaluated on an annual basis.
