About the Role

Seminole Hard Rock Support Services seeks a highly experienced and accomplished Chief Pilot to lead its Part 135 helicopter operations. This is a senior-level position reporting directly to the Director of Operations. The Chief Pilot is primarily responsible for the safe, efficient, and compliant execution of all helicopter flight operations, including passenger transport, maintenance test flights, and comprehensive oversight of flight crews and administrative functions. This role requires a skilled aviator with strong leadership capabilities and a deep understanding of aviation regulations and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

The Chief Pilot is entrusted with overseeing day-to-day helicopter operations, ensuring strict adherence to applicable regulations, including FAA Part 135 requirements, organizational standards, safety protocols, and security procedures. This involves:

  • Developing and maintaining company manuals and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Meticulously managing pilot records and ensuring compliance with all required FAA reporting systems.
  • Implementing and managing pilot scheduling, coordinating maintenance schedules, overseeing pilot training programs, and ensuring fleet standardization.
  • Assisting with the recruitment of new flight crews and contributing to the development of the helicopter training budget.
  • Planning flight missions in accordance with company policies.
  • Performing thorough pre-flight inspections of the aircraft's airframe, powerplant, rotor systems, flight controls, systems, and instruments.
  • Accurately documenting flight information.
  • Promptly notifying maintenance and dispatch of any discrepancies and collaborating directly with maintenance technicians to resolve issues.
  • Ensuring the proper maintenance and cleanliness of the aircraft.
  • Consistently adhering to all company policies and procedures.
  • Performing other related duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications

  • FAA Airline Transport Pilot License (ATP) with a Helicopter rating is required.
  • Valid First Class Medical Certificate is required.
  • Must meet the specific requirements outlined in 14 CFR 119.71 (d).
  • Minimum of 4,000 hours Total Time in helicopters is required.
  • Minimum of 3,000 hours Pilot in Command (PIC) in helicopters is required.
  • Minimum of 1,000 hours in single-engine turbine helicopters is required.
  • Minimum of 1,000 hours serving as PIC in multi-engine helicopters is required.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of operational experience under Part 135, Part 133, and Part 137 is mandatory.
  • Ability to safely operate helicopters in diverse and potentially adverse conditions, including day or night operations and landings on or off-airport, is required.
  • Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, is essential.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous leadership experience in an aviation environment.
  • Ten (10) or more years of experience operating under Part 135.
  • Prior qualifications as a Part 135 Company Instructor and Check Airman.
  • Experience operating AW139 and AW109 aircraft.
  • Experience with Night Vision Goggle (NVG) operations.

Work Environment

The primary work environment is the helicopter cockpit, which may not always be air-conditioned. The role requires tolerance for temperature fluctuations and potential exposure to environmental conditions such as heat, dust, rain, mud, and significant noise levels inherent in helicopter operations.
