Position Summary
The Chief Pilot – Medium Range is responsible for leading and supporting Walmart Aviation teams through transparent communication and the promotion of a robust safety culture. This position involves active flight operations as Captain, ensuring strict adherence to Federal Aviation Regulations and company procedures, while also managing crew performance and development. Key responsibilities include evaluating and enhancing standard operating procedures, overseeing operational planning, and guaranteeing efficient and safe travel experiences. By championing continuous improvement and interdepartmental collaboration, this role upholds the highest standards of integrity, operational excellence, and regulatory compliance to advance Walmart’s aviation objectives.
Responsibilities

Lead and operate as Captain on medium-range flights, ensuring compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations and company standard operating procedures.

Foster transparent communication and positive relationships across aviation teams to support operational objectives and continuous improvement.

Conduct thorough flight planning, including route analysis, weather assessment, fuel calculations, and regulatory documentation for domestic and international operations.

Promote and model a strong safety culture by conducting debriefings, monitoring crew performance, and coaching for skill development.

Manage operational risks by developing contingencies and recommending SOP enhancements to leadership.

Ensure cost-effective procurement and maintenance arrangements while maintaining regulatory compliance and customer service excellence.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or higher in a management-related discipline or a related field, OR at least 3 years of supervisory experience as a Chief Pilot or in any aviation management position.

Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) License with multi-engine land ratings and English proficiency endorsement.

Valid passport.

FAA first-class medical certificate.

2,000 hours total flight time.

1,000 hours turbine time.

500 hours Pilot-in-Command (PIC) time.

Type rating in jet aircraft.
Preferred Qualifications:

1,000 hours jet time.

1,000 hours PIC time.

10 years of experience in corporate or military aviation.

3,500 hours total flight time.

One or more jet type ratings (preferably in aircraft currently operated).
General Requirements:

Extensive knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations and pilot licensing requirements.

Proven experience in operating as a Captain on medium-range aircraft with strong flight discipline.

Ability to develop, evaluate, and improve Standard Operating Procedures to enhance safety and efficiency.
