Horizon Air | Chief Pilot

Horizon Air seeks enthusiastic and talented students to join their Flight Operations department for a 12-week full-time summer internship in Seattle, WA. This program offers hands-on experience in key projects supporting business growth and innovation, providing valuable skill development and networking opportunities within the aviation industry.

About the Role

The Flight Operations Intern will contribute to critical projects within a dynamic and collaborative work environment. Key responsibilities include maintaining digital pilot records, analyzing flight delay data for improvement insights, providing base support for pilot bases, partnering with inflight departments on crew events, overseeing records retention for the chief pilot office, and assisting with daily administrative functions.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in professional aviation or a related field with a focus on piloting.
• Possession of a Private Pilot license with a minimum of 50 flight hours.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and work independently.
• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program with at least one semester or quarter remaining after the internship concludes.
• Achieved junior or higher academic standing at the time of application.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum age of 18 years.
• Authorized to work in the U.S.

This internship is a temporary, full-time position located in Seattle, WA, with a starting rate of USD $25.00 per hour. Interns will receive unlimited standby travel benefits on Alaska Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines, and Horizon Air, commencing on day one. Candidates must be prepared to relocate to Seattle for the duration of the internship if not already local.
