Non-Type Rated Boeing 737 Captains – Ascend Airways, Gatwick
Ascend Airways, a new AOC holder operating a fleet of Boeing 737 (NG and MAX) aircraft within the ACMI market, seeks experienced Non-Type Rated Captains for its inaugural operational base at London Gatwick Airport. A subsidiary of Avia Solutions Group, the world’s largest ACMI provider, Ascend Airways offers a unique opportunity for ambitious pilots.
This position includes a comprehensive Type Rating course, with a bond covering the £35,000 cost, repayable according to the following schedule:
- 1-12 months post-completion: Full cost.
- 13-24 months post-completion: Two-thirds of the cost.
- 25-36 months post-completion: One-third of the cost.
Compensation and Benefits:
The successful candidate will receive a highly competitive compensation package, including:
- Gross annual salary: £120,000
- Pension contribution: 6% of base salary
- Flight pay: £13 per block hour
- Loyalty payment: £4,000 pro rata (paid annually from May 25th)
- Per diems: Maximum tax-free amount, varying by destination (as per UK government guidelines).
- Minimum 10 days off per month.
- 42 days annual leave.
- Maximum eight days' leave between June 1st and September 15th.
- Company-paid parking at Gatwick.
- Company-paid medical renewals.
- Three "golden days" per year (guaranteed rostered days off at the home base).
- Loss of license insurance.
- Comprehensive travel insurance, including death benefit coverage.

Requirements:
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Unrestricted right to live and work in the United Kingdom.
- Valid UK Class 1 medical certificate (restrictions for spectacles/contact lenses permitted).
- Residence within 90 minutes travel time of London Gatwick Airport.
- UK ATPL.
- Minimum 3,000 hours on aircraft with MTOW > 60 tonnes.
- Minimum 500 hours PIC on Boeing or Airbus aircraft.
