Position Summary
hth companies is seeking a highly skilled and safety-focused Full-Time Commercial Pilot to manage corporate transportation needs, primarily within the Midwest region. The incumbent will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the company’s 1979 Cessna T310 twin-engine aircraft, transporting essential personnel. While the role necessitates on-call availability, flight demands are generally light, averaging approximately three flights per week. The majority of missions are structured as single-day trips, although occasional overnight stays may be required. Beyond piloting responsibilities, this position encompasses comprehensive aircraft stewardship, including rigorous maintenance oversight, management of preventive maintenance schedules, and meticulous flight record keeping to ensure unwavering compliance with regulatory and company standards.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
The Commercial Pilot is responsible for the full spectrum of flight operations and aircraft readiness, including:
- Conducting detailed pre-flight and post-flight inspections, confirming the aircraft’s airworthiness and adherence to all Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations.
- Analyzing meteorological conditions, filing comprehensive flight plans, and executing safe and efficient flight routes.
- Coordinating effectively with ground support personnel, Air Traffic Control (ATC), and passengers regarding dynamic flight schedules and operational changes.
- Overseeing all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, inspections, and repairs in strict accordance with FAA regulations and manufacturer specifications.
- Maintaining precise aircraft maintenance logs, ensuring all documentation is accurate, current, and compliant.
- Collaborating with approved external maintenance facilities to schedule routine servicing and promptly resolve any mechanical discrepancies.
- Mandating and adhering to all federal, state, local, and company operational and safety regulations, actively promoting a proactive safety culture.
- Ensuring all aircraft airworthiness documentation, including registration, insurance, and operator certifications, remains current and readily available.
- Maintaining accurate and exhaustive flight and duty time records in compliance with applicable FAA requirements.
- Communicating upcoming flight schedules, travel requirements, and any necessary logistical changes to relevant company personnel.
- Managing required flight documentation and ensuring flight manifests are accurately completed.
- Maintaining readiness to respond to on-call flight requests in a timely manner and demonstrating adaptability to changing schedules, including occasional overnight travel.
- Performing various ancillary duties and functions as directed by management.
Required Qualifications and Experience
The successful candidate must possess the following mandatory licenses, ratings, and experience minimums:
Licenses and Ratings (Required)
- FAA Commercial Pilot License with Multi-Engine Land endorsement.
- Instrument Rating (IFR) is required.
- A current FAA medical certificate appropriate for the level of pilot license held.
- Completion of all requisite training necessary to maintain current pilot certifications and instrument flight currency.
Flight Time Minimums
- Minimum of 1,000 hours Pilot in Command (PIC).
- Minimum of 500 hours in multi-engine aircraft.
- Minimum of 25 hours specifically in a Cessna T-310 aircraft.
Knowledge and Skills
- Thorough and demonstrable knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), aviation weather theory, and Air Traffic Control procedures.
- Prior experience operating a twin-engine piston aircraft, particularly the Cessna T310, is strongly preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities, coupled with exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to complete OSHA 10-hour certification within 60 days of employment.
Physical and Operational Requirements
Candidates must be able to meet the following physical demands typical of a corporate flight environment:
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and move items up to 50 lbs. on a routine basis (e.g., luggage, small equipment).
- Capability to climb in and out of the aircraft and manage the loading and unloading of items.
- Ability to remain seated for extended periods during flight operations.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively observe, listen, and communicate to maintain a high level of operational safety.
