Job Summary:

The Chief Pilot is a key leadership position responsible for the oversight and management of all flight crew operations. This individual will collaborate with the Director of Operations to ensure the highest standards of safety, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency are maintained throughout the flight department.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Director of Operations to direct all hiring and training activities for flight crew members.
  • Coordinate operations policies, training programs, and other flight department activities.
  • Maintain current pilot flight and training records, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Ensure consistent standardization among all flight crew members.
  • Verify all flight crew members are enrolled in the company's Drug and Alcohol Abuse Prevention program and that all requirements of the Pilot Records Improvement Act are met.
  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive pilot training and proficiency records, pilot flight schedules, flight activity reports, and all necessary FAA correspondence pertaining to operations.
  • Maintain updated aircraft checklists.
  • Ensure that thorough procedures are in place to document pertinent flight information for each operation.
  • Establish and implement clear policies for the dissemination of essential information to all crew members regarding routes, airports, NOTAMs, navaids, and company procedures and policies.
  • Maintain and make readily available to all employees a current copy of the Aeronautical Information Manual, FAR Part 91, and FAR Part 135.
  • Submit all required reports pertaining to flight crews to the FAA.
  • Request and recommend nominees for Check Airman authorization to the FAA.
  • Ensure that proper procedures are in place to monitor crew members' duty times and legality before they are assigned to duty.
  • Manage and oversee Operations Specifications amendment requests.
  • Demonstrate a thorough and comprehensive understanding of the Company Operations Manual, FAA Regulations, Operations Specifications, flight manuals, and all other pertinent instructions related to their duties.

Qualifications:

  • Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate with one or more of the following type ratings: GIV PIC, Hawker PIC, or Challenger 601 PIC.
  • A minimum of 4,000 hours of total flight time.
  • Possession of a valid FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
  • Valid U.S. Passport.
  • Demonstrated success in a key management or supervisory role within a Part 135 operation.
  • Proven experience in coaching and managing a large team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and time management abilities.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate at all organizational levels.
