The Role
Reporting to the Crew Culture Manager, the Leader, Crew Culture is primarily responsible for leading, supporting, coaching, and developing a team of award-winning Cabin Crew professionals based in Sydney. This role is pivotal in fostering a collaborative, empowered, and high-performing team that consistently delivers unforgettable journeys for guests. The Leader, Crew Culture drives team and operational performance in alignment with Virgin Australia’s values, policies, and KPIs, while also playing a crucial role in supporting the health and wellbeing of the crew.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspires and motivates Cabin Crew, cultivating an environment that ensures memorable experiences for every customer, every day.
- Ensures team adherence to operational targets, safety regulations, and performance metrics while maintaining high service quality.
- Embeds and leads a positive people culture consistent with the Virgin Australia Group’s strategic vision and purpose.
- Facilitates performance management meetings, ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and relevant regulations.
- Ensures team members adhere to the Enterprise Agreement (EA), workplace regulations, and company policies.
- Supports investigations into workplace incidents, grievances, and disciplinary matters, ensuring fair and compliant processes.
- Manages the health and wellbeing of Cabin Crew members, including leading return-to-work processes, supporting employees with injury management, and liaising with relevant stakeholders.
- Supports the day-to-day operation as required to meet performance metrics.
Successful Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Minimum Year 12 qualification or equivalent.
- Proven leadership experience managing large, diverse teams within a fast-paced business environment.
- Experience leading remote workforces.
- Experience running performance management processes.
- Aviation industry experience is highly regarded.
- Demonstrated trusted people leadership capability.
- Ability to influence and engage business leaders effectively.
- High level of emotional intelligence, with the ability to understand behaviors and respond to achieve positive outcomes.
- Ability to drive positive customer outcomes through a large, diverse workforce.
- A strong understanding of working within the scope of an Enterprise Bargaining Agreement.
