As Leader, Crew Culture, this role is responsible for leading Virgin Australia's award-winning Cabin Crew, recognised as Best Cabin Crew for seven consecutive years. The primary focus is to lead, support, coach, and develop a team of customer service professionals operating onboard the aircraft.
This leadership position is critical in fostering a collaborative, empowered, and high-performing team dedicated to making every guest's journey unforgettable. Reporting to the Crew Culture Manager, the Leader, Crew Culture drives team and operational performance in line with Virgin Australia's values, policies, and key performance indicators. The role also plays a key part in supporting the health and wellbeing of the crew.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspire and motivate Cabin Crew to build an environment that delivers memorable experiences to every customer, every day.
- Ensure the team meets operational targets, safety regulations, and performance metrics while maintaining a high level of service quality.
- Embed and lead a positive people culture aligned with the Virgin Australia Group’s strategic vision and purpose.
- Facilitate performance management meetings, ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and Fair Work requirements.
- Ensure team members adhere to the Enterprise Agreement (EA), workplace regulations, and company policies.
- Support investigations into workplace incidents, grievances, and disciplinary matters, ensuring fair and compliant processes.
- Manage the health and wellbeing of Cabin Crew members, including leading return-to-work processes, supporting employees with injury management, and liaising with relevant stakeholders.
- Support the day-to-day operation as required to ensure performance metrics are met.
Skills and Experience:
- Minimum Year 12 qualification or equivalent.
- Demonstrated leadership experience leading large, diverse teams in a fast-paced business environment.
- Experience leading remote workforces.
- Experience with running performance management processes.
- Aviation industry experience is essential.
- Trusted people leadership capability.
- Proven ability to influence and engage business leaders.
- High level of emotional intelligence; the ability to read, monitor, and understand behaviours and respond effectively to achieve positive outcomes.
- Ability to drive positive customer outcomes through a large, diverse workforce.
- Solid understanding of working within the scope of an Enterprise Bargaining Agreement.
