Tradewind Aviation, a premier Part 135 commuter and on-demand private charter operator, seeks highly skilled and dedicated Pilatus PC-12 Pilots. This is a formal two-pilot crew position requiring aviation professionals who prioritize safety and customer satisfaction.

Primary Responsibilities:

The Pilatus PC-12 Pilot is responsible for conducting safe and efficient flight operations as part of a two-pilot crew. They maintain the highest standards of safety and customer service.

Compensation:

  • Competitive salary with an established pay scale, including yearly increases and bonuses.
  • Most pilots earn well above the starting salary.
  • Starting Salary: $50,000 per year.
  • Volunteer Pay: Second in Command (SIC) - $450 per day.
  • Per Diem: $3.21 per duty hour (domestic and international).
  • Overnight Pay: $20 (domestic), $35 (international).
  • Flight Duty Pay: All legs flown over leg 6 receive an additional $125 per leg.

Position-Specific Benefits:

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Aviation-related college degree preferred, but not required.
  • Successful completion of a Part 61 or 141 Flight Training Program.
  • Valid, unrestricted driver’s license.
  • Valid, unrestricted passport.
  • FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
  • FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate with Airplane Single-Engine Land (ASEL).
  • FAA Instrument Rating.
  • FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit.

Experience & Professional Skills:

  • 800 hours total time preferred.
  • 75 hours night flight preferred.
  • Certified Flight Instructor (CFI), Certified Flight Instructor Instrument (CFII) preferred.
  • Current Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) knowledge and experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of Garmin 430 Avionics preferred.
  • Previous customer service experience.

Reduced Hours Requirements:

  • United Aviate Program Participants: 600 hours total time.
  • United Aviate Academy Participants: 500 hours total time.
  • United Aviate Academy Participants with Recommendation: 300 hours total time.
  • JetBlue Program Participants: 600 hours total time.

Work Environment & Culture Skills:

Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard.
  • Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to load and unload aircraft as necessary.
  • Ability to perform moderate to heavy lifting (up to 70lbs).

Location Requirements:

  • Operational bases in Waterbury–Oxford Airport (OXC), Westchester County Airport (HPN), Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (SJU), and Stuart, FL (SUA).
  • Must be able to relocate within 90 minutes of the base.
  • This position is NOT commutable.
  • There is no relocation package offered for this position.

Shift Requirements:

  • Schedules vary by base location, but typically involve 4 days per week.
  • Schedules are released up to 30 days in advance.
  • Guaranteed 13 days off per month; any less will be paid as a Volunteer Day.
  • Must be available for assigned shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Other Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

International Candidates:

  • Ability to work and travel freely within and outside of the United States and assigned territories.
  • Hold a non-conditional, non-expired green card and be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Hold a valid, unrestricted foreign passport with appropriate visas.

Salary:

$50,000 per year.
