Mission Systems Instructor/Subject Matter Expert

A leading aerospace and defense company seeks a highly qualified Mission Systems Instructor/Subject Matter Expert to support the US Air Force Test Pilot School at Edwards AFB, CA. This individual will play a crucial role in developing and delivering the Mission Systems curriculum for future flight and space test professionals.

Responsibilities:

The Mission Systems Instructor/Subject Matter Expert will provide expert instruction, guidance, and analysis, covering topics including optical sensors, radar, communications systems, electronic warfare, weapons, and cyber security/operations. They will develop and deliver engaging classroom, laboratory, and open-air instruction and collaborate with the curriculum development team to ensure its alignment with current technology and operational practices. This individual will also coordinate course logistics, administer evaluations, and provide constructive student feedback. The position may require occasional travel.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in an engineering or scientific discipline with at least 8 years of experience in test and evaluation (Bachelor’s degree with additional experience may be considered).
  • Thorough knowledge of DoD Test and Evaluation within major acquisition programs.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and applying test measures and techniques.
  • Instructional experience.
  • Expertise in Mission Systems, preferably within both space and flight domains.
  • Relevant experience supporting space or air system testing.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to brief all levels of personnel.
  • Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with the ability to obtain SAP.
  • U.S. Citizenship Required.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Test Pilot School graduate (USAF, USN, Empire, or EPNER).
  • Space-related experience.
  • Experience providing professional instruction at an educational institution.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and web-based collaborative resources.

Compensation:

The salary range for this position is $200,000 - $250,000 per year.
