Gulfstream 650, Senior Captain

SUMMARY

We are currently looking for a Senior Captain (FAR91) for our Aviation Department to be based at Hobby Airport in Houston, Texas.

The Gulfstream 650 -- Senior Captain is responsible for the safe, efficient operation of assigned aircraft, its occupants, and any goods carried. The individual shall ensure the flight is conducted in compliance with all federal, foreign State and company policies and procedures. He or she shall retain final authority for the safe operation of assigned aircraft. The individual may delegate these duties but not the responsibility for those duties. The Senior Captain may be assigned as either PIC or SIC.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as PIC under FAR91 and applicable foreign State requirements on long range aircraft
  • Responsibly receive, transmit, and handle consumer and customer data per applicable Data privacy practices, policies, and guidelines.
  • Responsibility for flight planning, aircraft performance and navigation supported by in-house and vendor meteorologist and dispatcher(s) and other assigned crew member.
  • Carry out return to service flights in accordance with company manuals
  • React quickly and appropriately to environmental changes and emergencies;
  • Communicates with passengers in a courteous and professional manner
  • Updates the aircraft logbook and/or writing a report at the end of the flight noting any incidents or problems with the aircraft.
  • Mentorship and development of other flight crew
  • Maintain 6-month turbojet currency and 24-month currency on turbo-propeller aircraft (if assigned)

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Total Time: 5,000 hours
  • Fixed Wing: 4,000 hours
  • Pilot in Command:1,000 hours in turbojet
  • Current type rating on G650 or comparable aircraft is required.
  • PC 12 experience, a plus
  • Primary residence within a 2-hour drive from Hobby Airport.
  • Must be able to work on an on-call basis
  • Must have a clear record with the FAA; no violations recorded
  • Must be able to demonstrate his/her piloting ability in a simulator evaluation
  • Must have recent international experience in Europe, Middle East or Africa
  • Must have recent experience operating Long-Range Aircraft
  • College degree, preferred.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, & REGISTRATIONS*

US ATP with appropriate type rating

Obtain and maintain FAA First Class Medical

FCC Restricted Radio Telephone Operator's License

US driver's license

Valid US Passport

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. While performing the duties of the job, the associate is required on a daily basis to analyze and interpret data, communicate, and frequently access, input, and retrieve information from manuals and the computer and other office productivity devices. The associate will use ladders, work stands, lifts, etc. frequently and will work on all areas of the aircraft that may require access during performance of duties. The associate is regularly required to move about the hanger/airport and is required to stand; walk; sit in confined moving spaces; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The associate will also be required to occasionally climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The associate must be able to work a flexible schedule and be willing to travel on short notice. The associate must regularly frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds over their head. Employee may operate across multiple time zones during inclement weather.

WORK REQUIREMENTS

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an associate encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The associate will regularly be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, areas in which moving mechanical parts, fumes, toxic or caustic chemicals are present, and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment ranges from quiet and moderate with occasional high volume transients. The employee may be frequently exposed to vibration, increased solar radiation, and confined spaces for up to 14 hours.

TRAVEL REQUIRED

The job requires travel domestically and internationally 100% from base. As a result, the duties for this position occur in various places including, but not limited to an airport, hangar and semi-industrial settings.
