Description

Position Summary

G-V program pilot will support mission planning, aircrew mobilization, weather decisions, airspace coordination and safe operations of the company’s modified Gulfstream V aircraft. Operations will be in accordance with program and customer standards. Must be able to operate independently in austere environments worldwide. Contributes as a team member to maintain high aircraft availability rates 365 days per year. Interfaces with domestic and foreign government representatives regarding the use of local logistical infrastructure.

Essential Functions

  • Pilots aircraft as Pilot in Command and Second in Command in support of CONUS and OCONUS airborne data acquisition flight activities
  • Performs precise aerial survey flight operations driven by diverse sensor requirements
  • Performs functional check flights
  • Performs command pilot functions with assigned pilots and technical collection crew
  • Ensures all flights are conducted in compliance with applicable aviation regulations, both domestic and foreign
  • Assists with daily collection reports, weekly operations reports, detailed maintenance reports, and incident reports as required
  • Complies with Federal Aviation Regulations, Army Regulation 95-20 and company flight operation and standard operating procedures
  • Ensures the aircraft is operated in accordance with aircraft manufacturer’s requirements, flight manuals, directives, company policies and specific mission procedures
  • Ensures that all flight operations are performed in a safe and professional manner
  • Assists as necessary in the responsibilities for aircraft upkeep, scheduling, maintenance, safety management and fueling operations as required
  • Conducts pre‐flight and post‐flight inspections and related briefings
  • Owns assigned tasks from their initiation to completion/decision point.
  • Contributes to the overall success of the program by supporting customer needs and executing duties efficiently and effectively.
  • Provides daily communications while on assignment with the Chief Pilot and on-site Flight Operations Manager
  • Must maintain all needed pilot medical certificates, type ratings and recurrent training requirements
  • Other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no direct reports.

Work Environment

This job operates in field locations. This role routinely uses standard office equipment. Travel and rotational deployment to CONUS and possibly austere OCONUS duty locations is required.

Position Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma.
  • Current FAA Multi-Engine Commercial pilot license with Instrument Rating
  • FAA Class II Medical Certificate
  • Flight time experience: total time of 3,000 hours of which 1,500 must be multiengine turbine time. Additionally, 500 hours of the 1,500 hours must be multiengine turbojet time.
  • Must have 1,000 hours PIC of which 300 must be in a similar type aircraft.
  • Restricted Radiotelephone Operator’s Permit
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and an international driver’s permit
  • Capable of lifting at least 50 pounds
  • Ability to work extra hours when necessary
  • Possess a current US Passport
  • Able to secure necessary VISA(s)
  • Must possess and maintain a secret level or higher security clearance
  • Must be able to complete pre-deployment training, DOT drug testing, and a medical examination in accordance with program standards through a CONUS Replacement Center

Preferred Qualifications

  • ATP Certificate
  • Gulfstream V type rating and/or current proficiency in multiengine turbojet large cabin aircraft
  • International PIC flight experience
  • Prior US Government operational flight experience
  • Experience flying ISR, aerial mapping, or airborne data collection mission profiles
  • Prior overseas military or government rotation experience
  • Familiarity with DCMA Instruction 8210-1C or Army Regulation 95-20
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
