Job Summary and Mission
As a Starbucks First Officer – Second-in-Command, you represent the pride and professionalism of the Starbucks Coffee Company brand and employees around the world. The first officer is one of the Company’s most visible representatives to the passengers and serves as a Starbucks ambassador both at home and abroad. They model the Starbucks guiding principles and act with tact and decorum - while providing the utmost in service and safety. The first officer contributes to Starbucks’ success by acting as Second-in-Command of company aircraft for assigned flights and safely operating assigned aircraft in compliance with all federal, state, local and foreign regulations, as well as the policies and procedures specified in the company’s operations manuals. Pilots work closely with other crew members, dispatch, maintenance, and line personnel, in the planning and execution of flight operations and fulfilling the air transportation needs for Starbucks Aviation.

Responsibilities
- Assist the captain in managing the flight and crew to ensure each trip is flown safely, effectively and efficiently.
- Evaluate all risk factors and adjust trip(s) as necessary to maintain highest degree of safety possible.
- Keep up to date with new policies, procedures, FAA and ICAO regulations, and IS-BAO best practices.
- Assist with preflight planning and coordination duties as assigned by the trip’s captain.
- Perform arrival and departure preparation. Ensure that the aircraft is airworthy and properly equipped, including supervising the fueling and servicing of the aircraft and conducting preflight checklists.
- Assist in passenger baggage handling.
- Perform duties as pilot flying, or pilot not-flying, as assigned by Pilot-in-Command.
- Assist in securing the aircraft post flight.
- Record aircraft discrepancies for maintenance corrective action and maintain applicable flight logs.
- Maintain an image that reflects positively on the Starbucks Coffee Company.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the chief pilot.

Basic Qualifications
- Valid Airline Transport Pilot Certificate
- Current 1st Class Medical Certificate
- Valid passport
- FCC Restricted Radio Operator Certificate required
- Ability to travel extensively, domestically and internationally
- Ability to work a non-standard work schedule on occasion, which may include weekends and holidays
- Ability to pass a FAA Class 1 physical examination every 6 months
- Ability to meet the requirements of CFR Part 61.58 in aircraft to be flown
- Strong knowledge of international operating rules, regulations, and procedures
Strong knowledge of FAA operating rules & regulations

Preferred Qualifications
- 3,000 hours total flight time
- 1500 hours PIC
- 500 hours turbine multi-engine
- G-650 / G-550 type rating preferred
- International large-cabin business jet experience preferred
- Bachelor’s degree required or in process
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent organizational skills, interpersonal skills, and communication skills (written and verbal)
- Superior customer service skills and high degree of professionalism- this position routinely deals with the highest executive levels at Starbucks
- Able to work effectively as contributing member of a diverse and highly qualified team
- Highly motivated and seeks out new learning/development opportunities which promote personal and professional growth
- Working knowledge of MS Office
