Essential Responsibilities and Duties

The Captain is entrusted with the ultimate responsibility for the safe and prudent operation of the Falcon 2000LXS aircraft. Key duties include:

  • Ensuring the absolute safety of all passengers, the aircraft, and the crew throughout all phases of flight.
  • Conducting comprehensive flight preparations, including a complete check of weather, facilities, and alternate airports along the intended route.
  • Reviewing the maintenance status of the aircraft prior to departure.
  • Executing a proper pre-flight inspection in strict accordance with the approved Aircraft Flight Manual.
  • Ensuring all flight operations adhere rigorously to the policies and procedures established by Solairus Aviation and all applicable Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs).
  • Accurately and completely finalizing all required trip paperwork in accordance with current operational protocols.

Minimum Flight Qualifications

Prospective Captains must meet the following required minimum flight hours:

  • Total Time: 3,000 hours
  • Pilot in Command (PIC): 1,500 hours
  • Multi-Engine Land (MEL): 1,500 hours
  • Multi-Engine Land PIC: 500 hours
  • Time in Turbo Jet Aircraft: 500 hours
  • Instrument Time: 250 hours

Specific Certification Requirements

  • The candidate must possess a current Type Rating on the Falcon 2000LXS or a comparable aircraft type.
  • A current First Class Medical Certificate is mandatory.
  • The Captain must be available to work on an on-call basis to meet operational demands.
  • Annual completion of ICAO International procedures training is required.
  • The applicant must maintain a primary residence within a two-hour driving radius of KBJC or be willing to relocate to meet basing requirements.

Compensation Insight

Solairus collects salary range information based on market conditions from multiple industry sources. Crewmembers are compensated between $50,000 and $500,000 annually. Compensation is determined by factors including geographic area, experience level, equipment type/aircraft, specific job duties, training requirements, and the assigned client account.
