Position Overview

Solairus Aviation is seeking a qualified and experienced Full-Time Challenger 605 Captain to join an operation based at KPWK airport in Wheeling, IL. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exemplary professionalism and be a supportive colleague, consistently striving for excellence in every aspect of performance. Essential Responsibilities

The Challenger 605 Captain is primarily responsible for the safe operation of the Challenger 605 aircraft. Key duties include, but are not limited to:

• Ensuring the safe and prudent conduct of all flights.
• Reviewing the maintenance status of the aircraft before each flight.
• Performing thorough pre-flight inspections in accordance with the approved Aircraft Flight Manual.
• Conducting comprehensive checks of weather conditions and available facilities along the planned route and at destination/alternate airports.
• Ensuring all flights adhere to Solairus Aviation's policies and procedures, as well as applicable Federal Aviation Regulations.
• Prioritizing and ensuring the safety of all passengers, crew, and the aircraft.
• Accurately completing all required trip paperwork according to current procedures.

Required Qualifications

Candidates for the Challenger 605 Captain position must meet the following minimum flight hour requirements:

• Total Time: 3000 hours
• Pilot in Command (PIC): 1500 hours
• Multi-Engine Land (MEL): 1500 hours
• Multi-Engine Land Pilot in Command (MEL PIC): 500 hours
• Time in Turbo Jet: 500 hours
• Instrument Time: 250 hours

Specific Qualifications and Certifications

In addition to flight hour requirements, candidates must possess the following specific qualifications:

• Type rated on the Challenger 605 or a comparable aircraft.
• Hold a current First Class Medical Certificate.
• Must be available to work on an on-call basis.
• Must be able to complete ICAO International procedures training annually.
• Primary residence must be within a two-hour drive of KPWK airport, or the candidate must be willing to relocate.

Compensation for Solairus crewmembers varies depending on factors such as geographic area, experience level, equipment type/aircraft flown, specific job duties, training, and the assigned account. The salary range for Solairus crewmembers is reported to be $50,000 to $500,000.
