Seminole Hard Rock Support Services seeks a highly experienced and qualified professional for the position of Chief Pilot - Helicopter. This senior-level role is integral to overseeing and managing all aspects of the organization's FAA Part 135 helicopter operations.

Role Summary:

The Chief Pilot holds responsibility for directing the day-to-day operations of the Seminole Tribe of Florida's certificate holder. This includes overseeing passenger transport to local destinations, coordinating maintenance test flights, supervising and scheduling flight crews, and performing essential administrative duties. The position reports directly to the Director of Operations and is classified as exempt.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversees and manages daily helicopter flight operations.
  • Ensures strict compliance with all applicable aviation rules, FAA Part 135 regulations, organizational standards, and safety and security protocols for all company operations.
  • Develops, maintains, and updates company manuals and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Manages pilot records and ensures compliance with all required FAA reporting systems.
  • Implements and administers pilot scheduling, coordinates aircraft maintenance schedules, and oversees pilot training and standardization programs.
  • Actively participates in the recruitment and hiring process for new flight crews and contributes to the development of the helicopter training budget.
  • Plans flights meticulously in accordance with established Company policies.
  • Performs comprehensive pre-flight inspections of the helicopter, including the airframe, powerplant, rotor systems, flight controls, systems, and instruments.
  • Accurately documents essential flight information such as flight time, destination, and maintenance discrepancies in flight records.
  • Provides timely notification to maintenance and dispatch personnel regarding any discrepancies and collaborates directly with maintenance technicians to identify and rectify issues.
  • Ensures the proper maintenance, cleanliness, and airworthiness of the aircraft.
  • Adheres to all Seminole Hard Rock Support Services policies and procedures.
  • Performs additional aviation-related duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Possession of an FAA Airline Transport Pilot-Helicopter (ATP-H) License.
  • Possession of a current FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
  • Must meet the requirements stipulated in 14 CFR 119.71 (d).
  • A minimum of 4,000 hours of total time in helicopters.
  • A minimum of 3,000 hours of Pilot in Command (PIC) time in helicopters.
  • A minimum of 1,000 hours in single-engine turbine helicopters.
  • A minimum of 1,000 hours of PIC time in multi-engine helicopters.
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of cumulative experience operating under FAA Parts 135, 133, and 137 regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to safely operate helicopters in adverse weather conditions, day or night, and to unimproved or off-airport locations.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, which includes evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a leadership or management role within an aviation environment.
  • Ten (10) or more years of cumulative experience operating under FAA Part 135 regulations.
  • Previous qualifications as a Part 135 Company Instructor and/or Check Airman.
  • Experience operating AW139 and/or AW109 helicopter types.
  • Experience operating with Night Vision Goggles (NVG).

Work Environment:

The primary work environment is within a helicopter cockpit. It should be noted that not all aircraft are equipped with air conditioning. The role requires the ability to tolerate fluctuations in temperature while performing essential functions. While operating in the field, exposure to various weather conditions such as heat, dust, rain, mud, and noise may occur. As with all aviation roles, pilots may face potential job hazards, including the risk of hearing loss due to prolonged exposure to engine noise.
