Seminole Hard Rock Support Services is seeking a highly skilled and experienced aviation professional to serve as Chief Pilot - Helicopter. This is a senior-level leadership position responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company's Part 135 helicopter operations. The Chief Pilot plays a critical role in ensuring the safety, efficiency, and regulatory compliance of the flight department, reporting directly to the Director of Operations.

Role Overview:

The Chief Pilot is responsible for the day-to-day oversight of helicopter operations conducted under the Seminole Tribe of Florida's Part 135 certificate. This includes supervising and scheduling pilots, coordinating maintenance schedules, and handling administrative duties. The role involves the transport of passengers to various destinations and conducting maintenance test flights.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing daily helicopter operations.
  • Ensuring strict compliance with all applicable rules, FAA Part 135 regulations, organizational standards, and safety/security protocols.
  • Developing and maintaining company manuals and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Managing pilot records and ensuring compliance with required FAA reporting systems.
  • Implementing and managing pilot scheduling and standardization.
  • Coordinating pilot training programs.
  • Assisting with the recruitment of new flight crews.
  • Contributing to the development of the helicopter training budget.
  • Planning flights in accordance with company policies.
  • Conducting thorough pre-flight inspections of the helicopter airframe, powerplant, rotor systems, flight controls, systems, and instruments.
  • Accurately documenting flight information, such as flight time, destination, and maintenance discrepancies.
  • Promptly notifying maintenance and dispatch of any discrepancies and collaborating with maintenance technicians for resolution.
  • Ensuring the aircraft are properly maintained and clean.
  • Adhering strictly to all Seminole Hard Rock Support Services policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • FAA Airline Transport Pilot - Helicopter License.
  • First Class Medical Certificate.
  • Must meet the requirements of 14 CFR 119.71 (d).
  • A minimum of 4,000 hours total time in helicopters.
  • A minimum of 3,000 hours Pilot in Command (PIC) in helicopters.
  • A minimum of 1,000 hours in single engine turbine helicopters.
  • A minimum of 1,000 hours PIC in multi-engine helicopters.
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of experience operating under Part 135, 133, and 137 regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate helicopters in adverse conditions, day or night, on or off airport.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous leadership experience.
  • Ten (10) years of experience operating under Part 135.
  • Previous Part 135 Company Instructor and Check Airman qualifications.
  • Experience with AW139 and/or AW109 aircraft.
  • AW139 Type Rating.
  • Night Vision Goggle (NVG) experience.

Work Environment:

The primary work environment is the helicopter cockpit, which may not always be air-conditioned. The position requires the ability to tolerate fluctuations in temperature and may involve exposure to inclement weather conditions such as heat, dust, rain, mud, and noise while performing essential duties. Pilots may face job hazards including potential exposure to loud engine noise.
