The Opportunity

Rise Air offers exciting full-time, rotational opportunities for BE20 / King Air 200 Medevac Captains. This pivotal role involves operating critical air ambulance services, often in challenging northern flying environments. Captains will play an instrumental part in a life-saving mission, demonstrating leadership, precision, and an unwavering commitment to safety and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operating BE20 King Air 200 aircraft for medevac missions, prioritizing safety, patient welfare, and timely transport.
  • Adhering to all Transport Canada regulations and company standard operating procedures.
  • Exercising sound judgment and decisive decision-making, particularly in dynamic northern flying conditions.
  • Actively supporting and enhancing all safety initiatives and protocols within the flight department.
  • Providing exceptional customer service to patients, medical staff, and all stakeholders.
  • Demonstrating strong leadership qualities, with the ability to coach and mentor junior crew members.
  • Maintaining flexibility to accommodate varying shift requirements, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, as operational needs dictate.

Work Schedule & Benefits

Captains will enjoy a structured, rotational schedule designed to promote work-life balance and provide stability:

  • Rotational Schedule: Options include a 14 days ON, 14 days OFF rotation, or a 7 days ON, 7 days OFF rotation. Travel to and from the duty station will occur on Guaranteed Days Off (GDO).
  • Training Compensation: Required training events are scheduled outside the regular rotation, and Captains will receive two additional weeks of pay annually to accommodate these essential commitments.
  • Equitable Shifts: Medevac shifts are distributed conscientiously to ensure equal flight time among captains, maintaining set shifts without rolling duty days.
  • Travel Provided: Rise Air arranges and confirms all necessary travel from the Captain's designated gateway airport within Canada to Saskatoon, and subsequently to and from La Ronge.
  • Accommodation: Company-provided accommodation is available for Captains during their duty rotations in La Ronge.

Required Qualifications

Candidates must meet the following minimum requirements for consideration. Preference will be given to those with current PPCs (Pilot Proficiency Checks) on the BE20 / King Air 200 aircraft type.

  • A minimum of 1500 hours total flight time.
  • A minimum of 500 hours multi-engine flight time.
  • A minimum of 500 hours turbine flight time.
  • A minimum of 500 pilot-in-command hours.
  • Possession of a valid Instrument Rating.
  • A current and valid passport for potential travel to the USA.
  • Legal entitlement to immediately work in Canada.
  • Ability to obtain a Transport Canada Restricted Area Pass (RAIC).
  • Demonstrated knowledge and substantial experience in northern flying operations.
  • Ability to meet and maintain all specific requirements established by customer standards.
