Aerial Fire Suppression Flight CrewPosition Overview:
As an Aerial Fire Fighting Pilot, you will be responsible for flying fixed-wing aircraft to fight wildfires. The various
aircraft are the L-188 Electra, CL-215, Turbo Commanders, King Air 100 and C90A and AT802 Fireboss. You will
be required to fly in low altitudes, at high speeds, and through rugged terrain to effectively drop water or fire
retardants on active fires. This is a physically and mentally demanding position that requires excellent flying
skills, decision-making abilities, and a passion for protecting the environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Operate one of several types of aircraft in a safe and effective manner to fight wildfires
• Follow prescribed tactics and procedures for aerial firefighting operations
• Coordinate with ground crews and other aircraft to ensure efficient fire suppression efforts
• Monitor weather conditions and communicate any changes or potential hazards to the team
• Maintain and update all required documents and reports accurately
• Conduct daily inspections and pre-flight checks on the aircraft
• Ensure compliance with all safety and aviation regulations
Requirements:
• Applicant should have minimum 1000 hour PIC and 1500 total time (the minimum flight hours requirements
differ per aircraft types)
• Commercial Pilot License with instrument rating
• ATPL or IATRA
• Preference is given to applicants with experience in aerial firefighting, forestry, or other relevant aerial work.
• Excellent flying skills and ability to make quick decisions in high-stress situations
• Strong knowledge of aviation regulations and safety procedures
• Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively with ground crews and other pilots
• Flexibility to work long hours and in various weather conditions• Physically fit and able to endure the demands of the job
• Float endorsement would be advantageous
• Current Medical
• Drivers License and Current Passport
