KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Ravn Alaska First Officer is responsible for safely operating Company aircraft in compliance with regulations, established policies, and procedures. They share in the responsibility for ensuring the safety of all crewmembers, passengers, and cargo on board once the aircraft doors are closed. The First Officer reports to the Captain and works diligently to execute each flight safely and efficiently. Other responsibilities aligned with Ravn Alaska Core Values include but are not limited to:

  • Upholding safety by strictly adhering to the Code of Federal Regulations (CFRs) and our company manuals. The First Officer is diligent in following these regulations to ensure a secure and reliable environment for every flight.
  • Acting with integrity when following established regulations, policies, and procedures to ensure personal fitness is satisfactory and compliant and that duties will not be impeded.
  • Embodying the spirit of connectedness by taking part in company and department initiatives to provide passengers with the highest customer service and seeking ways to offer a consistently positive flying experience for community members.
  • Showing reliability by ensuring the aircraft is equipped with all required systems and components for its designated operations prior to originating a flight or a series of flights and remains airworthy until termination of the flights.
  • Demonstrating commitment by engaging in courteous and respectful interactions with customers, supervisors, co-workers, and business associates. Through good communication, crewmembers strive to support trust and keep interactions positive and purposeful, even under stressful conditions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate has exceptional customer service skills, strong teamwork abilities, and meets all the necessary certifications and experience requirements. They must also be willing to be available within one hour of Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport when scheduled. Other qualifications include:

  • Must possess a high school diploma or GED.
  • Must meet the applicable Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) minimums specified in 14 CFR Part 61 for either an ATP or Restricted ATP (R-ATP).
  • Must have a valid First-Class Medical.
  • Must not have a record of any FAA ‘Certificate Action’ or ‘Administrative Action’ within the prior 24 months.
  • Must have a valid US Passport and be able to travel in and out of the US, including to Canada.
  • Must be able to lift and maneuver up to 65 lbs.
  • Must be able to work all shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Must be able to work in all types of weather, including extreme temperatures.
  • Must have a strong safety awareness and the ability to adhere to Safety Management Systems (SMS).
  • Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check and drug test.
  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English fluently.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
  • Must be comfortable working in an airport environment around odors and sounds typically associated with operating aircraft.
