As the Manager Cabin Crew Workforce Planning you will be responsible for managing the optimal utilisation of domestic cabin crew, balancing strategic initiatives with short to longer term operational requirements. This role manages the Allocations, Resource Planning and Pattern Planning and Rostering teams who work across various time horizons – from bid period by bid period, up to 5-10 year planning. Shorter term planning includes the managing of all courses, training, ground duties, leave, transfers and upgrades for domestic cabin crew rosters as well as the construction of pattern planning and rostering solutions each bid period for ~2000 cabin crew with a total manpower spend of $220m ensuring compliance with EBA and industrial agreements. Medium to longer term planning will focus on areas such as workforce and EA strategy, recruitment and initiatives to achieve the highest operational stability, legislative compliance and lowest crew unit cost.

Crucial to this role is the ability to build effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. As a service provider to the cabin crew business unit and as a key contact point for union consultation in relation to pattern planning and rostering, this role is required to analyse data and present recommendations across several forums.

You’ll have –

  • Highly developed analytical skills and ability to think laterally
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills across senior levels of the business
  • Excellent skills in influencing, negotiation and conflict resolution
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills whilst navigating through our complex work environment
  • In depth knowledge of the planning principles and understanding of the business objectives that guide the company
  • In depth understanding of the business and Cabin Crew requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to turn strategy into deliverables that have a positive impact on the business
  • Ability to manage a team and develop staff
  • Advanced skills in systems, including MS office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
  • A background in strategic planning and corporate strategy (desirable)
  • Knowledge of Cabin Crew industrial agreements (desirable)
  • Knowledge of Jeppesen Crew Planning and ARMS Systems (desirable)
