Perimeter Medevac Pilot
Position Summary
Perimeter Medevac Pilots report to the 703/704 Chief Pilot and are responsible for the safe and efficient transport of thousands of passengers annually. A primary focus is on-time performance and passenger comfort, alongside maintaining an intimate mechanical knowledge of the aircraft and staying current with all regulatory literature. All pilots are Transport Canada approved and meet or exceed qualification standards. Medevac Pilots collaborate closely with other crew members and flight followers, maintaining constant communication to ensure efficient and effective Medevac transfers.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Conduct flights in strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures, Canadian Aviation Regulations, Aircraft Flight Manual, and Company Operations Manual.
- Assist the Pilot in Command (PIC) in flight management and operation, including cockpit procedures.
- Fuel the aircraft.
- Perform thorough pre-flight aircraft inspections.
- Lift, load, and secure patients, cargo, baggage, and freight.
- Assist medical crew when required and appropriate.
- Brief passengers in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures.
- Complete post-flight aircraft inspections.
- Focus on improving flying skills and knowledge towards assuming a Captain position.
- Actively participate in the Company’s Safety Management System.
- Continue to meet and exceed Transport Canada Qualification standards for a Pilot.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Education, Experience and Certifications
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) equivalent.
- Commercial Pilot License.
- Category 1 Medical.
- Current Group 1 Instrument Rating.
- 500 hours total time.
- Canadian citizenship or ability to work in Canada unrestricted.
- Fluency in English with effective verbal and listening comprehension.
- Ability to obtain and maintain applicable transportation security clearances and additional authorizations.
- Child Abuse Registry and Criminal Record check required.
- Thorough knowledge of aviation regulations.
- Valid Passport required.
- Valid Driver License required.
Indigenous and Cultural Awareness Training is considered an asset.

Working Conditions
- Physically able to perform all listed job duties.
- Travel by aircraft and other means as required by the role.
- Work performed both indoors and outdoors; adaptable to all outdoor weather conditions.

- Accommodation arranged in residence at assigned remote bases when on scheduled shift; bases may change as per operational requirements.
