ATP/CTP Instructor
Pan Am International Flight Academy seeks experienced Ground School and Simulator Instructors to deliver high-quality initial and recurrent training to flight crews. This independent contractor position, reporting to the Director of Operations Control Center/Flight Standards, is responsible for conducting flight training within Pan Am's core and other training programs. The role requires an as-needed work schedule and is exempt.
Summary of Responsibilities:
The selected candidate will maintain the highest standards of flight training, ensuring applicant success. Responsibilities include reviewing applicant files, conducting ground, flight, and other assigned training, and accurately completing all training records. They will communicate student progress with other instructors and the Director of Operations, providing detailed and accurate updates. Maintaining qualifications on assigned equipment and adhering to FAA and Pan Am International Flight Academy standards is crucial. They will ensure compliance with the General Operations Manual and maintain student records according to policy. The role also includes reviewing and recommending improvements to courseware and content. The instructor will maintain competency and qualification on assigned equipment.
Technical Requirements:
Candidates must possess an FAA ATP license and prior experience in Part 121 Operations. Ground School instructors need a minimum of an FAA Commercial Pilot or FAA Ground Instructor license. Type rating on at least one of A320, B737, B767, B777, MD88, B747CL, or B747-400 is required. Aviation instructor experience and three years of 121 airline experience are preferred. The individual must demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a team environment and support cultural diversity. Proficiency in programs such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Adobe is necessary, along with strong written and verbal communication skills and a customer-service orientation.
Work Environment:
The position operates in both office and flight simulator environments. It may involve occasional medium lifting, up to 50lbs, and prolonged periods of sitting, standing, walking, bending, and stooping. Equipment used includes standard office equipment, computers, servers, copiers, telephones, audiovisual equipment, flight simulators, and flight training devices.
