Job Summary

The Pilot – Captain reports directly to the Chief Pilot and holds ultimate authority and responsibility for the safe operation of company aircraft, adhering strictly to company policies, procedures, and Federal Aviation Regulations. This role requires a dedicated team member who serves as a steward of the company, providing exceptional service to passengers, clients, and guests. The incumbent will demonstrate core competencies in dependability, safety, security, responsibility, and professionalism, engaging in continuous flight and safety training. Additional non-flying duties supporting department operations and flight activities will be assigned by the Chief Pilot. The Pilot – Captain is expected to foster positive relationships with vendors, customers, and internal departments, collaborating to enhance sales, improve business performance, and resolve issues effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Fully embrace and embody the Pacific Seafood Diamond Philosophy: Teamwork, Productivity, Quality, and Excellence, consistently striving for optimal performance and continuous improvement.
  • Execute comprehensive pre-flight planning, including weather analysis, aircraft performance assessment, weight and balance calculations, review of Notices to Airmen, and flight plan preparation. Manage customs procedures for international flights.
  • Conduct thorough pre-flight aircraft inspections, deliver safety briefings, and execute flights with safety and proficiency.
  • Perform post-flight aircraft inspections and promptly report any maintenance discrepancies to the Chief Pilot.
  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant federal regulations for flight operations, aircraft systems, normal and emergency operating procedures, aircraft surface contamination and cold weather operations, high altitude operations, crew resource management, and applicable international operations through ongoing study and training.
  • Provide superior service to passengers, clients, and guests, including greeting passengers, assisting with luggage and special requests, and briefing on aircraft safety equipment and amenities.
  • Undertake assigned non-flying duties, such as managing crew and passenger travel arrangements, aircraft servicing, database updates, aircraft cleaning, and maintaining the stock and currency of aircraft supplies, medical kits, and emergency equipment.
  • Maintain a current Commercial Pilot Certificate or higher, a Second-Class Medical Certificate or higher, and provide all required documentation to meet FAA, state, and company insurance regulations and other applicable codes for pilot operation. All pre-employment pilot requirement costs are the responsibility of the pilot.
  • Strictly adhere to Pacific Seafood’s drug and alcohol policy, refraining from consuming alcoholic beverages within eight hours of flying.
  • Champion and enforce robust safety practices throughout all operations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English (ICAO Operational Level 4).
  • Hold a valid Second-Class FAA Medical Certificate or higher.
  • Possess a valid U.S. Passport.
  • Hold an FAA Airline Transport Pilot certificate or an FAA Commercial Pilot certificate with a Multi-Engine Land Rating and Instrument Privileges.
  • Hold a Pilot in Command (PIC) Type Rating for the G280 and/or LR-60 (Learjet 60).
  • Minimum Pilot Time Logged:
    • 3500 hours Total Flight Time
    • 500 hours Multi-Engine Flight Time
    • 1000 hours Turbo-prop, Turbo-fan, and/or Turbo-jet
    • 500 hours Turbo-fan and/or Turbo-jet
    • 250 hours in Make and Model (Gulfstream 280 and/or Learjet 60)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience flying in Alaska.
  • Experience in international flight operations.
