Assistant Chief Pilot - Take Flight with a Dynamic Aviation Leader

This is an exceptional opportunity to join a thriving and dynamic aviation organization as an Assistant Chief Pilot. This safety-sensitive position plays a crucial role in upholding the highest professional standards for flight crews and contributing to the ongoing success of our flight operations. Working closely with the Chief Pilot, the Assistant Chief Pilot will be immersed in the daily operations of the flight department, fostering a culture of safety and excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Mentorship:
- Assist in the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of new flight crew members.
- Conduct quarterly performance conversations, annual reviews, and provide constructive coaching to pilots.
- Co-lead orientation and indoctrination programs for new Pilots in Command and Second in Command, partnering with Human Resources.
- Act as a liaison for pilots, addressing technical concerns and fostering open communication.
- Operational Excellence:
- Collaborate with the Chief Pilot to ensure the safe and efficient operation of all aircraft.
- Assist in scheduling crew time-off, optimizing crew utilization while adhering to regulatory requirements.
- Participate in and contribute to various flight operations meetings.
- Manage pilot recognition programs, fostering a culture of appreciation and high morale.
- Safety & Compliance:
- Review Flight Risk Assessment Tools, proactively mitigating potential risks.
- Assist in managing flight releases and meticulously track relevant data.
- Create and disseminate informative memos to pilots regarding updates, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and other critical information.
Qualifications:
- Education & Experience:
- Valid Commercial Pilot or Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate.
- Minimum of one year of experience directly related to Part 135 training or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the Part 135 operating environment.
- Flight Experience:
- Minimum of 500 hours total flight time.
- Clean safety record with no accidents or incidents within the last five years.
- Skills & Abilities:
- Exceptional leadership, presentation, and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong planning, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 Suite and flight operations software (e.g., Jet Insight).
- Ability to build and maintain strong interpersonal relationships.
- Proven ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
