Pilot in Command - Gulfstream 500
Executive Jet Management (EJM), a Berkshire Hathaway company, seeks an experienced and highly motivated Pilot in Command (PIC) for a Gulfstream 500 aircraft based in Boca Raton, FL. This is a unique opportunity to join a high-performing, four-person flight department supported by a dedicated Maintenance Technician.

About the Position
This position offers a true worldwide footprint, operating under Part 91 regulations, and requires significant international flying experience. The ideal candidate possesses previous military flying experience and holds a heavy cabin Gulfstream rating.
While the aircraft is based in Boca Raton, Florida, this position does not require residency in South Florida. Home-basing is an option, provided the candidate resides within a reasonable distance to a major international airport.
The PIC holds ultimate responsibility for ensuring the aircraft's safe, compliant, and efficient operation. This includes strict adherence to all company and regulatory requirements while consistently delivering an exceptional service experience.
Responsibilities
- Ensuring Safe Flight Operations:
- Guarantees all crewing and trip assignments comply with company and regulatory standards.
- Diligently completes flight planning, performance analysis, and weight and balance calculations for each flight.
- Leads pre-flight briefings utilizing the Threats, Plans and Considerations (TPC) methodology to mitigate operational risks.
- Adheres to company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), coordinates with company personnel, and acts as Grounds Security and In-Flight Security Coordinator as defined by company policy.
- Conducts thorough pre-flight checks, verifies aircraft maintenance status, and meticulously documents discrepancies in accordance with company SOPs.
- Supervises all aircraft ground servicing (fueling, oil, oxygen) ensuring adherence to SOPs.
- Delivers comprehensive passenger briefings in accordance with company policy and regulations, providing the highest level of customer service and accommodating any special passenger needs.
- Employs Crew Resource Management (CRM) and Threat and Error Management (TEM) for clear and timely communication with crew and support personnel during normal, abnormal, and emergency operations.
- Delivering Exceptional Service:
- Provides top-tier service to owners and passengers, proactively identifying opportunities to enhance the EJM experience and diligently addressing service deviations.
- Collaborates effectively with fellow crew members and EJM internal partners to ensure a consistently excellent experience for owners and passengers, skillfully resolving any conflicts or challenges.
- Maintaining Proficiency and Compliance:
- Remains current on all regulatory and company-required training, maintaining the required recency of experience.
- Adheres to the company’s Safety Management System (SMS) program, diligently reporting any safety or non-compliance concerns through appropriate channels.
Qualifications
- FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate
- Prior corporate/business aviation experience preferred
- FAA Type rating in applicable fleet
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the position
- Minimum Time Requirements:
- Total flight time: 3500 hours
- Multi Engine Land (MEL): 1500 hours
- Pilot in Command: 2000 hours
- PIC MEL: 500 hours
- Instrument: 300 hours
- Jet: 500 hours
