Second In Command (SIC) – Challenger 350 Aircraft
Executive Jet Management (EJM), a Berkshire Hathaway company and a pioneer in aircraft management and global jet charter services since 1977, seeks a highly qualified Second In Command (SIC) for a Challenger 350 aircraft based in [TEB Airport Location]. This position is part of a four-pilot operation supported by a dedicated maintenance technician, operating under Part 135 and 91 regulations. Preference will be given to candidates residing within a two-hour radius of the base, though commuting arrangements are also considered.
Purpose of the Role:
The SIC ensures the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of the aircraft, adhering to all company and regulatory requirements while providing an exceptional service experience for passengers.
Responsibilities:
Ensuring Safe Flight Operations:
- Meets crewing and trip assignment compliance with company and regulatory standards.
- Completes flight planning, performance calculations, and weight and balance determinations for all assigned flights.
- Employs Threats, Plans, and Considerations (TPC) briefing methodology to proactively identify and mitigate operational risks.
- Strictly adheres to company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and coordinates effectively with internal personnel. Serves as the Grounds and In-Flight Security Coordinator, as defined by company policy.
- Conducts comprehensive pre-flight inspections, verifies aircraft maintenance status, and ensures mission capability. Accurately documents any discrepancies in accordance with SOPs.
- Oversees all aircraft ground servicing (fueling, oil, oxygen), ensuring compliance with SOPs.
- Provides comprehensive passenger briefings adhering to company policy and regulations. Maintains the highest level of customer service, accommodating passengers’ individual needs, including those with physical limitations.
- Utilizes Crew Resource Management (CRM) and Threat and Error Management (TEM) principles for effective and timely communication with crew and support personnel during all flight phases.
Delivering an Exceptional Service Experience:
- Provides superior service to aircraft owners and passengers, actively identifying and addressing opportunities for service enhancement. Proactively investigates and resolves service issues.
- Collaborates effectively with fellow crew members and internal EJM partners to ensure a consistently high standard of service. Addresses and resolves conflicts professionally and efficiently.
Maintaining Proficiency and Compliance:
- Maintains currency in all required regulatory and company training programs.
- Strictly adheres to the company's Safety Management System (SMS) program and reports safety concerns or instances of non-compliance through established channels.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in corporate/business aviation is preferred.
- Possession of a valid Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate is mandatory.
- A current FAA type rating for the applicable aircraft fleet is required.
- Ability to perform all essential functions of the position.
Minimum Flight Time Requirements:
Pilot In Command (PIC):
- Total flight time: 3500 hours
- Multi-Engine Land (MEL): 1500 hours
- Pilot in Command: 2000 hours
- PIC MEL: 500 hours
- Instrument: 300 hours
- Jet: 500 hours
Second In Command (SIC):
- Total flight time: 2500 hours
- Multi-Engine Land (MEL): 500 hours
- Pilot in Command: 500 hours
- Instrument: 150 hours
- Jet: 250 hours
- Turbine Engine: 100 hours
- Time in Type: 50 hours
Compensation:
Base salary range: $110,000 - $432,000
