Second in Command Pilot - Challenger 350
Executive Jet Management (EJM), a subsidiary of NetJets and a Berkshire Hathaway company, is a distinguished leader in aircraft management and worldwide jet charter services since 1977. EJM is seeking a highly qualified Second in Command (SIC) pilot for a Challenger 350 aircraft based at Teterboro Airport (TEB). This position supports a 4-pilot team, with dedicated Maintenance Technician support, operating under both Part 135 and 91 regulations. While preference will be given to candidates residing within a two-hour commute of TEB, commuting options are available.
The Second in Command is responsible for the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of the aircraft, adhering to all company and regulatory requirements while consistently delivering an exceptional service experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensures the safe operation of all assigned flights, maintaining strict adherence to company policies and regulatory standards.
- Conducts thorough flight planning, performance calculations, and weight and balance assessments.
- Leads pre-flight briefings using the Threats, Plans, and Considerations (TPC) methodology to effectively mitigate operational risks.
- Strictly adheres to company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), coordinating effectively with company personnel, and fulfilling Ground Security and In-Flight Security Coordinator roles as required.
- Completes comprehensive pre-flight checks, including aircraft maintenance status, to confirm mission readiness and diligently records discrepancies as per SOP guidelines.
- Monitors all aircraft ground servicing procedures, such as fueling, oil replenishment, and oxygen levels, ensuring compliance with established SOPs.
- Conducts detailed passenger briefings in accordance with company policy and regulations, providing superior customer service and addressing the unique needs of passengers.
- Utilizes Crew Resource Management (CRM) and Threat and Error Management (TEM) to ensure clear, timely communication with crew and support personnel during routine, abnormal, and emergency operations.
- Proactively delivers quality service to owners and passengers, seeking to enhance the overall EJM experience, and diligently resolves service-related issues.
- Collaborates effectively with fellow crew members and EJM partners to provide a consistently high-quality service to owners and passengers, while professionally managing conflict.
- Maintains all required regulatory and company training, along with recency of experience.
- Complies fully with the company's Safety Management System (SMS) program, reporting safety and non-compliance concerns through established channels.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in corporate or business aviation preferred.
- Must hold a valid Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate.
- FAA Type Rating in the applicable aircraft fleet is required.
- Must be capable of performing the essential functions of the position.
- Pilot in Command (PIC) Minimum Time Requirements:
- Total flight time: 3500 hours
- Multi-Engine Land (MEL): 1500 hours
- Pilot in Command: 2000 hours
- PIC MEL: 500 hours
- Instrument: 300 hours
- Jet: 500 hours
- Second in Command (SIC) Minimum Requirements:
- Total flight time: 2500 hours
- Multi-Engine Land (MEL): 500 hours
- Pilot in Command: 500 hours
- Instrument: 150 hours
- Jet: 250 hours
- Turbine Engine: 100 hours
- Time in Type: 50 hours
Compensation & Benefits:
EJM offers a competitive salary range of $110,000 - $432,000, commensurate with experience. EJM provides a comprehensive benefits package including:
