Executive Jet Management (EJM), a Berkshire Hathaway company, is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Pilot to join our team in Philadelphia, PA (KPHL). Purpose of Position:
This is a two-pilot position, supported by a Maintenance Technician, operating under Part 91 and Part 135 regulations. The account owner, a longstanding EJM client, requires a mix of owner-operated (Part 91) and retail charter (Part 135) flights, predominantly within the United States.
The Pilot in Command (PIC) holds ultimate responsibility for ensuring the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of the aircraft. The PIC adheres to all company and regulatory requirements while consistently delivering an exceptional service experience to passengers.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
Ensuring the Safe Operation of Flight:
- Comply with company and regulatory requirements regarding crewing and trip assignments.
- Conduct thorough flight planning, performance calculations, and weight and balance assessments for each flight.
- Employ the Threats, Plans, and Considerations (TPC) briefing methodology to lead comprehensive briefings and effectively mitigate operational risks.
- Adhere to company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and coordinate with company personnel as required.
- Serve as the Grounds Security and In-Flight Security Coordinator in accordance with company policy.
- Perform all aircraft pre-flight tasks, including verifying the maintenance status of the aircraft to ensure its mission readiness.
- Record any aircraft discrepancies in accordance with company SOPs.
- Monitor and oversee all aircraft ground servicing requirements (e.g., fueling, oil, oxygen), ensuring compliance with SOPs.
- Conduct passenger briefings in accordance with company policy and regulations.
- Provide the highest level of customer service and accommodate any special needs of passengers (e.g., physically challenged).
- Utilize Crew Resource Management (CRM) and Threat and Error Management (TEM) to maintain clear and timely communication with crew members and support personnel during all phases of flight operations, including normal, abnormal, and emergency scenarios.
Delivering an Exceptional Service Experience:
- Provide high-quality service to owners and passengers while actively identifying opportunities to enhance the EJM service experience.
- Proactively investigate and resolve any service deviations.
- Collaborate effectively with fellow crew members and EJM internal partners to ensure a consistent and positive service experience for owners and passengers.
- Professionally resolve conflicts and challenges in a constructive manner.
Maintaining Proficiency and Compliance:
- Maintain regulatory and company-required training and recency of experience.
- Comply with the company's Safety Management System (SMS) program and report any safety concerns or non-compliance issues through established channels.
Years of Experience:
4-6 years of experience in aviation.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other (KSAOs):
- Prior experience in corporate/business aviation is preferred.
- FAA Type rating in the applicable aircraft fleet.
- Ability to perform all essential functions of the position.
- Minimum Time Requirements:
- Total flight time: 3500 hours
- Multi-Engine Land (MEL): 1500 hours
- Pilot in Command: 2000 hours
- PIC MEL: 500 hours
- Instrument: 300 hours
- Jet: 500 hours
Base Salary Range:
$180,000 - $250,000
