Pilot-in-Command (PIC) - PC-12 & Cessna Caravan – Rotational Alaska Assignment
NANA Regional Corporation, Inc. seeks a highly qualified and experienced Pilot-in-Command (PIC) to join its aviation team based in Anchorage, Alaska. This critical role demands a professional with exceptional flying skills, strong leadership capabilities, and unwavering commitment to safety. The successful candidate will report directly to the Chief Pilot and be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of PC-12 and Cessna Caravan aircraft within a rotational, remote assignment.
Responsibilities:
The Pilot-in-Command will execute all duties outlined in the Operations Manual, adhering strictly to company procedures and all applicable regulations. Specific responsibilities include:
- Flight Operations: Assume command of the aircraft, crew, and passengers; ensure safe and efficient flight execution; maintain professional appearance and crew attire.
- Flight Planning: Develop comprehensive flight plans, including route selection, weather analysis, contingency airport identification, NOTAM review, passenger/cargo details, and risk assessment (Risk Assessment Form completion prior to each flight). Prepare or delegate flight plan filing.
- Pre-Flight Procedures: Conduct thorough pre-flight inspections, verify maintenance completion and sign-offs, confirm currency of all inspections and adherence to Airworthiness Directives (ADs). Ensure all necessary documentation is onboard.
- Weight & Balance: Oversee proper fueling and de-icing (when required); manage cargo loading, ensuring weight and balance compliance; complete and file weight and balance documentation.
- Logbook Maintenance: Maintain accurate flight and maintenance logs, documenting flight times, cycles, VOR checks, and any necessary maintenance entries.
- Passenger & Cargo Handling: Ensure safe passenger embarkation and disembarkation; manage cargo loading and unloading; collect airfares and freight fees (as required); document passenger and cargo information.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate must meet the following minimum qualifications:
- Minimum Commercial Pilot certificate with appropriate category and class ratings, and Instrument Rating.
- At least 2,500 flight hours, including 500 hours cross-country, 100 hours night flight, and 75 hours instrument flight time (minimum 50 hours actual flight).
- Minimum one year of experience flying in Western Alaska.
- Thorough understanding of the Operations Manual and company procedures.
- Valid aviation medical certificate issued by an authorized aviation medical examiner.
- Valid driver’s license with a driving record meeting NANA’s insurance requirements.
- Completion of yearly Flight Safety training for applicable aircraft models and compliance with a training agreement.
- Compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations Part 135.243 and 135.297.
