Job Objective

The Pilot in Command, a key member of the flight crew division within charter flight operations, is accountable for delivering exceptional service to charter clients. This role demands comprehensive knowledge of company procedures and strict adherence to Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations. The flight operations department's core mission is to provide safe, secure, and convenient air transportation tailored to client requirements.

The Million Air/American Jet International team's primary focus on safeguarding lives offers a distinctive lifestyle choice for 135 pilots, diverging from typical schedules with extended periods away from home and family.

The 135-charter fleet comprises a diverse range of mid-cabin aircraft. Comprehensive type-specific training and the requisite flight hours will be provided.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Collaborates with the safety manager to ensure that safety protocols are consistently maintained and never compromised.
  • Greets guests with a friendly and professional demeanor.
  • Cultivates positive relationships with aircraft owners and passengers.
  • Conducts thorough pre-flight inspections to ensure aircraft cleanliness and upkeep prior to guest arrival.
  • Maintains frequent and timely communication via in-person interactions, telephone, and email, promptly relaying customer preferences to flight operations.
  • Upholds the highest standards of competency and skill proficiency within their assigned aircraft type.
  • Operates effectively and independently, given the remote base assignment nature of the role.

Reporting Relationship

This position reports directly to the Chief Pilot and the Director of Operations.

Work Environment

This role operates within a professional aviation environment. Incumbents may experience exposure to various weather conditions and direct interaction with both moving and stationary aircraft.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is an exempt position. The role entails varied duty schedules, necessitating availability for evening, weekend, and scheduled company holiday work. Flexibility in scheduling is a critical requirement.

Travel

No travel is expected outside of standard pilot duties.

Required Education and Experience

  • Preference will be given to pilots holding type ratings and possessing experience in the Gulfstream G-150.
  • Possession of an ATP certificate is preferred.
  • A minimum of 2500 hours of total flight time is required, with prior 135 experience being advantageous.
  • Must possess a valid 1st class medical certificate.
  • Must be, or be willing to become, highly knowledgeable of 14 CFR and FAA regulations.
  • Must meet the requirements outlined in 14 CFR Part 135.243(a)(1) & (c).

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  • Must present an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to successfully pass a comprehensive background check.
  • Adherence to a zero-tolerance, drug-free workplace policy is mandatory.
  • Must reside within a 45-minute radius of Dallas Love Airport (KDAL).
