Metro Aviation, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fixed Wing Air Ambulance Pilot (IFR/PIC) for its Children's Hospital Colorado program in Englewood, Colorado. This position offers a competitive minimum base annual salary of $126,000, subject to offer letter terms and company policy, along with a $2,000 sign-on bonus and a $5,000 retention bonus.
The Pilot-in-Command is entrusted with the ultimate responsibility for all phases of aircraft operation, ensuring adherence to the highest standards of flight safety. The pilot will represent Metro Aviation professionally and maintain open communication with supervisors, the company, and clients. A commitment to exceptional interpersonal relationships with colleagues and clients is essential to support the company's continued success.
Essential functions include maintaining direct authority over the assigned aircraft, acting professionally in all interactions, adhering to work and training schedules, attending required meetings, complying with company manuals and regulations, performing operational control duties, conducting pre-flight inspections, and maintaining aircraft cleanliness.
Candidates must demonstrate effective communication skills, sound judgement, teamwork abilities, and leadership qualities. They should possess a FAA Airline Transport Pilot Certificate, a FAA 1st Class Medical Certificate, and a valid driver's license. Minimum required experience includes 2,500 total flight hours, with 1,000 hours each of Pilot-in-Command and Second-in-Command time, 500 hours of cross-country time, 100 hours of night flight time, and 75 hours of instrument flight time (50 in flight).
Preferred experience includes air medical and international operations, high performance and altitude endorsements, and experience in Part 121/135 operations. The position requires physical capabilities including the ability to stand, sit, walk, lift 40 pounds, respond to aircraft noises, wear a respirator mask, and maintain a "duty" weight.
The work environment includes a temperature-controlled office, exposure to outdoor aircraft facilities, and potential exposure to running aircraft and refueling systems. This is a full-time position with a 7 on / 7 off schedule, 12 hour shifts, and potential for workover.
