Job Title: Airplane Pilot (Part 135)
Mayo Clinic is seeking a professional and safety-focused Airplane Pilot to provide Part 135 flight services for medical transport. Based primarily at the Rochester, MN airport, this role also encompasses aviation and medical transport support to and from Mayo Clinic campuses in Jacksonville, FL, and Phoenix, AZ. The successful candidate will prioritize patient needs by maintaining the highest standards of aviation safety and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities

Uphold the Mayo Clinic Culture of Safety by modeling core safety behaviors: attention to detail, clear communication, questioning and receptive attitude, effective hand-offs, and mutual support.

Actively participate in the management of the company Safety Management System (SMS).

Engage in required simulation training events.

Execute tasks in full compliance with the General Operations Manual, Standard Operating Procedures, CAMTS, and IS-BAO accreditation standards.

Perform duties within a 0.9 FTE (36 hours per week) schedule, including every other weekend coverage and 12-hour day/night shifts.

Operate from primary and non-primary bases (including Jacksonville and Phoenix) as organizational growth dictates.
Requirements

Current FAA ATP Fixed Wing Rating.

Airplane Multi-Engine Instrument Rating.

2,500 total airplane flight hours.

2,000 total airplane Pilot-in-Command (PIC) hours.

1,000 total turbine hours.
-
700 hours of multi-engine airplane flight time.

200 airplane night flight hours as PIC.

200 hours actual weather flight time.

Current FAA Class I Medical Certificate issued within the preceding 12 months.

Weight must not exceed 250 pounds (114 kilograms).

Must pass a Federal-level background screen, as this is an FAA safety-sensitive position.

Commitment to obtaining subsequent FAA Class I medical examinations through the Mayo Clinic Division of Preventive, Occupational and Aerospace Medicine.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience with jet and turbo-prop aircraft.

Current currency in airplane category and class at the time of application.

Prior air medical transport experience.

Four-year degree.
