Role Description
Reporting to the Captain, the First Officer plays a crucial role in ensuring safe, efficient, and customer-focused flight operations. The successful candidate will integrate into a close-knit, high-performing crew, supported in their ongoing professional development every step of the way.
Key Responsibilities
The responsibilities of the First Officer include, but are not limited to:
- Assisting the Captain with comprehensive flight planning, performance calculations, and all phases of flight operations.
- Conducting thorough pre-flight inspections and completing required aircraft documentation accurately.
- Operating the aircraft in strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), regulatory requirements, and company safety policies.
- Monitoring weather conditions, communicating effectively with Air Traffic Control (ATC), and adjusting flight plans as necessary.
- Maintaining precise records of flight activities, duty hours, and any aircraft discrepancies.
- Participating in emergency procedures when required and assisting with passenger care to ensure well-being.
- Delivering exceptional customer service and acting as a professional representative of Loganair.
- Engaging actively in regular training programs to maintain and enhance qualifications.

Essential Requirements
- Previous operating experience on the DHC-6 Twin Otter aircraft type.
- Eligibility to live and work permanently in the United Kingdom.
- English language proficiency at ICAO Level 4 or higher.
- A valid passport permitting unrestricted worldwide travel.
- A valid UK CAA Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) with Multi-Engine Instrument Rating (MEIR), Advanced UPRT, and MCC certification.
- A valid UK CAA Class 1 Medical Certificate.
