First Officer, DHC6 Twin Otter
Overview
Skybus and Aurigny Airlines are actively seeking highly motivated and qualified First Officers to join their dedicated flight teams. This pivotal role involves operating the DHC6 Twin Otter aircraft across established regional route networks. Opportunities are available for deployment with Skybus, based in the UK mainland, or with Aurigny, based in Guernsey, The Channel Islands. Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for multi-crew operations of the DHC6 300 series fleet. Primary operational focus will be on regional networks, including routes between the UK mainland and St Mary’s, Isles of Scilly, or the UK mainland and The Channel Islands. The role also offers opportunities for inter-base exchange and participation in ad-hoc charter operations as required. This position is available on both full-time and part-time bases, with flight hours strictly adhering to the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) approved Flight Time Limitations (FTL) scheme.

Essential Qualifications and Experience
- Hold a valid UK-issued Part-FCL Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL), full or frozen.
- Possess a valid UK-issued Class 1 Medical Certificate with a minimum of three months' validity remaining.
- Hold a valid Instrument Rating for a multi-engine aircraft, with a minimum of three months' validity remaining.
- Successful completion of a Multi-Crew Cooperation (MCC) course.
- Successful completion of an Advanced Upset Prevention and Recovery Training (AUPRT) course.
- A minimum of 200 hours total flight time, including at least 70 hours as Pilot in Command (PIC).
- Demonstrable fluency in both spoken and written English.
- Possess the unrestricted right to live and work in the United Kingdom.
- Ability to supply comprehensive employment references for the past five years to facilitate airside security pass clearance.
Desirable Skills and Attributes
- Current or previous DHC6 Twin Otter type rating.
- Flight experience in turboprop aircraft.
- Experience operating light multi-engine aircraft such as King Air, Shorts Skyvan, Islander, or Trislander.
- Flight experience in tailwheel aircraft, gliding, or similar disciplines.
- Operational experience within regional airlines, small operators, island communities, freight operations, or medical evacuation (Medevac) services.
Compensation and Benefits
- For positions based in the UK mainland (Skybus), the starting annual salary is £32,625, increasing to £33,625 upon successful completion of line training, with subsequent annual increments.
- For positions based in The Channel Islands (Aurigny), the starting annual salary is £42,623.44.
