Job Description

Lockton is currently seeking an experienced Captain (Pilot) to join our Aviation team. The position will work out of our hangar at Hobby Airport, located in Houston, Texas. This position is an integral component of Lockton's Corporate Aviation organization and is crucial to the success and safety of Client and Associate travel. As a Captain, you will operate company aircrafts (GIIB and Astra G100s) in a safe and efficient manner in compliance with Lockton's aircraft schedule, operational directives, internal corporate policies, and in accordance with International, Federal, State and Local laws and regulations.   • Functions and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following
  • Ensure the safe and efficient conduct of assigned flights. Note: The Pilot-in-Command will not be subject to coercion by any company departmental managers or customers. Good judgment shall prevail at all times
  • Direct the activities of the Second-in-Command and ensures that all crewmembers understand fully and completely what duties are expected
  • Participate in the Safety Management System Validate aircraft airworthiness and registration, and confirm all required documentation is aboard the aircraft
  • Check weather and all applicable NOTAMs where available, and determine fuel, oil, and oxygen requirements
  • Determine the aircraft weight and balance
  • Confirm that all flight and technical equipment are updated and adequately charged for assigned flight
  • Verify that all flight planning requirements have been met
  • Examine crewmember's Pilot Certificates, Medical Certificates, passports, and visas, as required
  • Ensure that the flight will not be commenced if a crewmember is incapacitated from performing duties by any cause such as injury, sickness, fatigue, or the effects of any psychoactive substance.
  • Ensure that the flight will not be continued beyond the nearest suitable airport when a crewmember's capacity to perform functions is significantly reduced by impairment of faculties from causes such as fatigue, sickness, or lack of oxygen.
  • Complete aircraft preflight inspection before each departure
  • Ensure the Passenger Safety Briefing is provided to the passengers
  • Operate the aircraft per the Flight Department SOP and checklists, and within aircraft limitations.
  • Continually monitor the amount of usable fuel to ensure a safe landing with appropriate fuel reserves and communicates with ATC during abnormal situations
  • Maintain compliance with customs, immigration, and cabotage laws
  • Complete all postflight duties, including notifying the Company of deviations to any planned itinerary, schedule, or overnight location
  • Communicate, report and/or record the following:
  • Flight times and aircraft defects
  • All known or suspected FAA violations or incidents to the Chief Pilot as soon as practical
  • Any act of unlawful interference to the FAA or State (Mandatory Occurrence Report), as appropriate, and to the designated local authority
  • Hazardous weather or flight conditions encountered that are likely to affect the safety of other aircrafts to the appropriate ATC facility
  • Notify the appropriate authority, by the quickest available means, of any accident involving the aircraft (except where the PIC is incapacitated, when it will become the responsibility of the Chief Pilot or senior flight crewmember)

Qualification

  • 2-5 years aviation experience with 3,000 hours jet time
  • Experience and/or knowledge of Astra/G100 type aircraft (preferred)
  • Completed Airline Transport Certificate Ability to pass or completion of first-class medical exam
  • Knowledge of FAA regulations pertaining to corporate aircraft - Must have no FAA certificate actions
  • Experience with US customs entry/exit procedures and international handling
  • Successfully pass TSA background screening for necessary ID badge and ramp privileges
  • Currently hold a valid US Passport and driver's license
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to interact effectively as a team member and work in a cooperative spirit to ensure the success of our company
  • Maintain strict confidentiality in all cases involving client aircraft operations and when dealing with sensitive or security issues
  • Technical aptitude - including general computer competency
  • Openness to work non-standard schedules, which may include weekends, evenings, and occasional split shifts
  • Ability to travel internationally
  • Ability to see and hear clearly
  • Ability to read, comprehend and speak English fluently
  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
