Position Summary Information

Job Description Summary Full-time Chief Pilot will be responsible for all flight training duties
Responsibilities Responsible to model the University Mission through dedicated job performance, service excellence to constituencies, respectful collaboration and active support of the University Mission and Catholic and Lasallian higher education.

Responsibilities -Oversee all flight training duties-Oversee Assistant Chief and Flight Instructors and flight training students-Maintain FAA Part 141 records and requirements-Provide insight into fleet replacement, training, and operational issues-Hire flight instructors in concert with the Director of Flight Operations and Training Coordinator-Oversee flight instructor performance and student completion-Teach ground school courses as assigned by the Department Chair-Drive Safety Management System culture and initiatives in concert with the Coordinator of Aviation Safety-Conduct flight evaluations for students, Assistant Chiefs, and CFIs-Complete other duties as assigned by the Department Chair-Streamline flight operations to increase flight major graduation rates while improving program quality-Conduct flight transportation for Lewis University Officials
Minimum Qualifications Required Flight Times and Certifications: -Bachelor’s Degree-At least 3 years of airline, civilian, or military flight experience and at least 2000 hours of PIC-1000 hours of dual given in 3 years, or 1500 hours dual given-100 hours actual or simulated instrument with 2 years as an Instrument Instructor and 250 hours instrument dual given or 400 hours instrument dual given-FAA Commercial or ATP Certification-FAA Instrument Rating-FAA Multi-Engine Rating-FAA Flight Instructor Certificate-FAA Flight Instructor Instrument Certificate-FAA Flight Instructor Multi-Engine Certificate

Skills -Strong leadership skills in working with other CFIs on program improvement and advancement-Ability to innovate and problem solve-Highly organized and able to multi-task-Effective communicator
