Senior Captain - Flight Standards Training Manager:
The Senior Captain - Flight Standards Training Manager reports to the Director of Aviation and is responsible for ensuring that flight training programs maintain regulatory compliance and support the highest levels of safety, quality, and efficiency.
What to Expect:
-Achieves and maintains Evaluator and/or Instructor qualification.
-Responsible for the initial training, observation, standardization, mentorship, and continued qualification of all Instructor Pilots.
-Responsible for all flight instructor and evaluator procedures and training materials.
-Prepares measurable function goals and objectives to meet all position objectives, as well as department goals. Takes corrective action as necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with company policy.
-Coordinates with the Chief Pilot and SMS Manager in the development training materials that will be distributed to Instructor Pilots and students during initial, upgrade, and recurrent training.
-Assists with the review, analysis, and incorporation of Training, Safety, Operations related information gathered from flight operations reports, and the SMS into the training program to maintain regulatory compliance and support the highest levels of safety, quality, and efficiency.
-Tracks flight training and evaluation activity and recommends staffing level adjustments.
-Manages and tracks additional flight training, remedial flight training, and other training oversight as needed for flight and line training events. Coordinates with the Chief Pilot to manage adjustments to the flight training schedule (sim and line).
-Coordinates with the other department Managers, Supervisors, and other training personnel on operational items to be included in development of training programs.
-Acts a liaison and Subject Matter Expert (SME) to assists other function within the department with their training, checking, and evaluation needs for their function-specific personnel.
-Manages recordkeeping and documentation in a manner consistent with the Department’s goal of digitization.
-Participates in transitioning the Flight Department, specifically the Training Department) from functionally-based to process-driven.
-Communicates effectively, verbally and in writing, within the function and occasionally across multiple internal and external functions.
-Ensures external training (simulator centers) are adhering to Labcorp training procedures and policy and evaluate periodically for quality assurance.
Classification: Full-time, Exempt; Bonus Eligible
Working Location: Burlington, NC
Working Hours: The working hours for this role are 8:00-5:00 CST Monday-Friday. Flight Line duties as needed.
Travel Required : up to 25%
