Job Summary & Responsibilities

As a First Officer of a Pilatus PC-24 aircraft, the successful candidate will operate in Airplane Air Ambulance (HAA) operations under stringent CAMTS guidelines. This is a two-pilot crew position, requiring Airplane-IFR-Dual Pilot operations with an instrument rating. The role involves 24-hour operations, including day and night rotations.

Key responsibilities include:

• Performing line pilot duties in accordance with the General Operations Manual (GOM).
• Supporting the Safety Management System, Destination Zero, and other company safety campaigns.
• Collaborating with both internal and external customers to provide safe, efficient, courteous, and reliable air medical transport services.
• Participating in community outreach programs.
• Assisting with the loading and unloading of patients and medical equipment, which may require some lifting.

Schedule & Location

• Schedule: 7 days on, 7 days off (7 & 7 rotation).
• Location: Houston, TX.
• Commute: The successful candidate must reside within a 1-hour commute from the base.

Compensation & Benefits

• Significant Bonuses: A customer bonus of $30,000 and a sign-on bonus of up to $50,000 are available.
• Relocation package: A relocation package is available for eligible candidates, subject to a 2-year minimum service requirement if utilized.

Required Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and attributes:

• Current and qualified on the VE7A certificate.
• Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate, Airplane, Multi-engine Land.
• Current FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
• Minimum flight hour requirements (per CAMTS for SIC/ATP):
  • 2,000 Total Airplane Hours.
  • 1,000 Hours Pilot-in-Command (PIC) multi-engine.
  • 500 hours as PIC in multi-engine airplanes.
  • 100 night hours.
• Strong communication skills and a commitment to internal and external customer service.
• Successful interview and acceptance by both customer and PHI management.
• Ability to meet specific health screening requirements, including:
  • Tuberculosis screening.
  • Two Varivax vaccinations or positive varicella titer.
  • Two MMR vaccinations or positive titers for rubella, rubeola, and mumps.
  • Tetanus, diphtheria, acellular pertussis (Tdap) vaccine if more than two (2) years since last tetanus diphtheria vaccine booster.
  • Hepatitis B vaccination series history and a positive hepatitis B surface antibody titer for staff with risk for exposure to blood or other potentially infectious material.
  • Annual flu vaccination (within the last twelve months).
  • COVID-19 vaccination is required for this position.
• Ability to meet a body weight requirement of 235 lbs maximum.
• Ability to pass a pre-placement physical exam, including a functional capacity exam (strength and flexibility assessment, ability to lift 100 pounds to assist in loading/unloading patients and equipment), drug screening, and background screen.
• If successful applicant requires aircraft transition, a 1-year minimum service requirement applies.

Preferred Qualifications

• Preference will be given to pilots currently assigned to the KC Children's Mercy Program.
