The Opportunity: First Officer PC-24
This role operates within PHI Air Medical, adhering strictly to CAMTS guidelines for Airplane Air Ambulance (HAA) operations. The First Officer serves as Second-in-Command (SIC) of a Pilatus PC-24 in a dual-pilot, Airplane-IFR environment, requiring an instrument rating.
Key aspects of the role include:
- Participation in 24-hour operations, involving day and night rotations.
- A minimum service requirement of one year applies if aircraft transition training is provided.
- A relocation package is available; if utilized, a minimum service requirement of two years applies.
- Housing is not provided by the company.
Key Responsibilities
The First Officer's duties extend beyond flight operations to encompass a comprehensive commitment to safety, service, and community engagement. Responsibilities include:
- Performing line pilot duties in accordance with the General Operations Manual (GOM).
- Supporting the Safety Management System, Destination Zero initiative, and other company safety campaigns.
- Collaborating with internal and external customers to ensure safe, efficient, courteous, and reliable service delivery.
- Participating in community outreach programs.
- Adhering to all PHI Air Medical policies and procedures.
- Assisting with the loading and unloading of patients and medical equipment, which may require lifting.
Schedule and Location
- Work Schedule: 7 days on, 7 days off (7 & 7 rotation).
- Residency Requirement: Candidates must reside within a one-hour commute of the Houston, TX base location.

Candidate Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and attributes:
- Current and qualified on the VE7A certificate.
- Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate, Airplane Multi-engine Land.
- Current FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
- Demonstrated strong communication and customer service skills (internal and external).
- Successful interview and acceptance by both customer and PHI management.
- Compliance with all pre-placement medical and physical requirements, including:
- Tuberculosis screening.
- Two Varivax vaccinations or positive varicella titer.
- Two MMR vaccinations or positive titers for rubella, rubeola, and mumps.
- Tetanus, diphtheria, acellular pertussis (Tdap) vaccine if greater than two years since the last tetanus diphtheria vaccine booster.
- Hepatitis B vaccination series history and a positive Hepatitis B surface antibody titer for staff with potential exposure to blood or other infectious materials.
- Annual flu vaccination (administered within the last twelve months).
- Ability to pass a pre-placement physical examination, including a functional capacity exam (strength and flexibility assessment).
- Ability to lift 100 pounds to assist in the loading and unloading of patients and equipment.
- Adherence to a maximum body weight requirement of 235 lbs.
- Successful completion of drug screening and background checks.
- Current COVID-19 vaccination is a requirement for this position.
Minimum Flight Hour Requirements (CAMTS Compliant):
- 2,000 Total Airplane Hours.
- 1,000 Hours Pilot-in-Command (PIC) in multi-engine airplanes.
- 500 hours as PIC in multi-engine airplanes.
- 100 Night Hours.
Preference will be given to pilots currently assigned to the KC Children's Mercy Program.
